I'm pretty tired of "new mes" after last week, so here's hoping you didn't just jinx it.

And he's stubborn on top of it, but congratulations on getting through to him. [ she says this out of love, but she would love to box this man around the ears. ]

Yeah... there were a lot of strange things about last week that I'm not even going to pretend I understand. But I think if something different were to happen this week it'd already be in motion, and not because of a jinx.

I assume that's part of it. Talking to him in a way he responds to rather than trying to talk him down or discourage him. [ she says this like she's kind of going "stubborn old man" but she leaves it. ]

That sounds to me as if you want a convenient excuse and someone to blame. It won't be me!

Don't blame them either. [ mildly, but still a little firm. ] Though I'm sure that's who everyone will blame sooner or later.

They could probably avoid that if we ever heard from 'em.

They've been busy searching for answers to this problem. Not to mention the rest of heaven can't exactly be abandoned even if this is their special project.

[ does not know anders tried texting at all. ]

Right, right, we're just their special little project terrarium or... something.

They'll be here in person to speak with you at the end. Before that... it's all only as time allows it. We only speak to them as much as we do because we have to keep track of the current situation.

So what do they have to say about the situation, anyway?

They're pretty pissed, understandably. They didn't want this for their project, and they're frustrated that whoever or whatever is causing these disturbances has become very good at covering their tracks. They're busy ruling out a lot of the places they aren't, but it's still taking time they don't want to waste.

Annnd in the meantime, we're just kind of-- in a holding pattern while you guys work on that, I guess?

[ she just frowns. where the fuck are we. she's so distracted they're walking through a doorway that will likely yeet them into the funhouse whenever. ]

I know it's frustrating. We're trying to figure out what can be done inside this space by all of you, too. If anything.

Well, hopefully there'll be something besides "get tormented for creepy messages"?

[off we go into the funhouse! wiš'adel has a moment to get out a brief sarkaz expletive before the mirrors show them this; skip over the bit at the end with amiya and the shadows and then go through this section.]

One hopes. [ anyway, this happens. and she's watching it and really trying to grasp everything that's going on, but there's so much going on that she's not even sure what she's meant to respond to here, actually. she recognizes bits and pieces from what wisadel has told her, and when the memory starts to loop again she frowns a bit. ]

What. [ that's about all she says for a moment, yeah, if only to gauge how she's feeling about it. ]

[she sets a hand on her hip, exhaling as it loops, and gives the launcher a tap.]

This guy really gave us a lot of grief at first!

Her Highness was able to calm him down, more or less...? Ease all the rage and vengeance and screaming so he was a little more himself again.

Not that we exactly see eye to eye now, but it's not like I'm carting around a howling ghost.

I feel like I'd hear you complaining more if that were the case. [ just saying. ] ... she sounds very powerful to have that sort of control and influence over things.

Even without the power she got from the Crown, she was the kind of Caster you'd only see once in a few thousand years. With it? You can probably imagine.

I don't understand a lot of the shit Kal'tsit said about it, but she... it sounded like she managed to control something that they thought nobody could ever influence that way.

I can definitely imagine. It's a little overwhelming, honestly. [ and very powerful, wow. ]

But that's... good, isn't it? So long as the control isn't lost, and as long as it doesn't suddenly flip everything on its head.

Oh. Nah, flipping things is exactly what she was doing. She-- whatever she did in there, she managed to pass something to an enemy of ours that's probably gonna be a big problem later.

... but she also set the myriad souls free. Took them somewhere with her, after we had to kill her.
