Her Highness was able to calm him down, more or less...? Ease all the rage and vengeance and screaming so he was a little more himself again.

Not that we exactly see eye to eye now, but it's not like I'm carting around a howling ghost.

I feel like I'd hear you complaining more if that were the case. [ just saying. ] ... she sounds very powerful to have that sort of control and influence over things.

How was it that the old hag put it...

Even without the power she got from the Crown, she was the kind of Caster you'd only see once in a few thousand years. With it? You can probably imagine.

[...]

I don't understand a lot of the shit Kal'tsit said about it, but she... it sounded like she managed to control something that they thought nobody could ever influence that way.

I can definitely imagine. It's a little overwhelming, honestly. [ and very powerful, wow. ]

But that's... good, isn't it? So long as the control isn't lost, and as long as it doesn't suddenly flip everything on its head.

[personal profile] sarkazm 2025-03-12 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Nah, flipping things is exactly what she was doing. She-- whatever she did in there, she managed to pass something to an enemy of ours that's probably gonna be a big problem later.

... but she also set the myriad souls free. Took them somewhere with her, after we had to kill her.

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-12 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
And yet you don't seem very worried about that? [ please have some slight concerns about things being a bigger problem later. ]

... you've had to deal with a lot of choices that weren't necessarily easy to manage, haven't you. Not even all your own.
sarkazm: (14 - aFwnC4s)

[personal profile] sarkazm 2025-03-14 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
There aren't a lot of easy choices in the world. I learned that a long time ago-- you're gonna have to do a lot of shit you don't want to do, especially to get anything important done, so you'd better make your peace with that fast and get to work.
batterypack: (Stuck in the jet wash)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-15 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
... I guess that isn't a wrong way of doing things. Especially when there isn't time. I do wish it wasn't exactly the only answer in that case.

[ but instead of expressing further thoughts on that, something else appears. ignore my random highlights, but also ref of the kids (gansey with glasses, adam in red, and ronan) + henry. also orphan girl is a reference to a young child who also happens to have goat legs. dwbi.]

...fuck. That's not a bad way to put it. Like something just... stops you from thinking.

[it's pretty damn similar to how she felt, realizing theresa was dead. staring at the blood and footprints in the speaker's office. everything just-- it stopped. all the rage and fury and disbelief drained from her, she forgot how to make her body work, forgot everything except two words: she's gone.]

... [ well. yeah. ] Even knowing it was coming, and even knowing he asked, and what it was for, it didn't change how any of us felt. He was still dead. And he shouldn't have had to be.
sarkazm: (6 - RonSWwR)

[personal profile] sarkazm 2025-03-17 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Seems like it's always the ones that shouldn't have had to be, doesn't it?

[the ones who don't deserve that.]

Always. [ it sucks! ] ... I knew he was going to die that year even before I met him. I was hoping it wouldn't be because of me after all. But... we brought him back. It worked.

[personal profile] sarkazm 2025-03-19 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
It did--? Was it the kind of thing where it's like... now you have to stay away from him 'cause it'll just happen again, or did you get to sort of go back to normal there?
batterypack: (Now real life has no appeal)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-19 10:10 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly normal. We were in the middle of planning a road trip crosscountry with one of our friends. In a dream car created by another one of our friends. [ dumb. ]

At the time it felt like the only thing we gave up was Cabeswater. But now... it appears there was more to that than we believed. And the boys don't realize it, most likely, if I didn't before coming here.

Yeah, it sounded like he didn't think there was much to it.

...what else was there to giving that up?
batterypack: (Sometimes you scare me)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-19 09:46 pm (UTC)(link)
...well. Noah, apparently. His entire existence was erased from our memory.
