[ Eupha can try to hack... but to no avail, because she sees it is literally because the elevator has no power. There's a funnel for gasoline though! Just gotta find a tank in here. ]

It looks like we must find fuel to power this.

If it's safe down here, we can try splitting up. That should be the most efficient way to check around.

[ there's that like... locker? area? to the east. he's going to head that way. he is not actually going to stop eupha from following or staying. she is a free woman she can do as she pleases. "what about the other two" they can also do as they please. ]

We are menaced by party demons and alien anomalies. The source appears to be an entity known as Satan. We are resolved to stop him by any means necessary.

[ while daigo's checking one locker room, eupha will go look in the one just opposite it. they should be close enough to hear if anything happens in the other room... ]

[ he's gonna open every single locker until you tell me one of these is a mimic and eats him. ]

[ Daigo finds... a Lucky Coin!!! It's got a nice heft to it. You get the sense that in a sticky situation, you might be able to use this to better your odds... (You can roll or flip twice when the situation needs to be in your favour.)

Eupha doesn't find anything in the room opposite but she does find a few empty canisters of gasoline. Where there's empty canisters... there's hopefully a full one somewhere? Well no. She opens a locker and finds a bear trap. Be careful with that thing.

Kiryu and Basilio are just also looking around, though as you mingle around, you might hear a distant thud, thud. ]

[ they get a warm smile.

she is unsure of what to do with this bear trap...... but she will keep looking around, lifting canisters and shaking them a little to see if there is anything left in them. although she pauses a moment. ]

... What is that sound?

[ oh boy! daigo will take the lucky coin and cross the way to rejoin eupha - specifically because he hears that noise. ]

I'm not sure.

[ is it a dull thud or a mechanical thud or???? not that it matters. daigo still does not know wtf it is. ]

Did you find anything?

It sounds like it's coming from up there.

[ Glancing at the top hallway part between the two locker rooms... you do indeed hear the thudding coming from there, though whether you want to approach it is another question. It is a series of dull thuddings, like heavy footsteps. And some low snarls. Bas is there with his ear flicking, standing a little closer to Eupha.

For the record, Basilio has got like, this weird machete-looking weapon (it's a kassara), while Kiryu appears to have nothing. ]

We cannot proceed without the fuel...

[ she says quietly, and keeps looking. ]

there is that nook south of the lockers, is there anything there? anything sitting on under or around that... table? desk? thing? ]

[ If you mean the nook that turns rightward, you find a desk, and a generator! It does seem like this thing would reasonably be what you need to fill with fuel to power up the elevator...

You can keep looking, but avoiding the corridor up north, you pretty much find more strange junk, lots of heavy sealed drums that seem unopenable, buckets full of strange red liquid...... (it's paint, actually, for once). ]

[ if their eyes meet, eupha will shake her head to signal that no, she has not found any fuel yet either.

shall they move west through the south hallway, then? eupha's carrying this bear trap, i guess... ]

[ i guess we must face the mysterious hallway thudding.

he will rejoin eupha once again but like, for real this time. ]

[ The south hallway has two doors that could also be locked. Maybe useful for buying some time if you need to do something silly, like loop a terrible enemy around...

Honestly I debated making you guys face the terrible clown in here too but there can only be so much shit in one place. Would you like to brave the clearly ominous area of the north hallway, which you are 99% sure will result in a jumpscare, but you may begrudgingly have to, and you meta-ly know it is a part of the horror game genre and it's just a whole thing, but you can acknowledge it sucks anyway... ]

[ Okay something comes busting out of the walls, perhaps entirely predictably, but it sucks anyway.

What the fuck is that thing. It looks like a beast of some sort, canid in shape if you HAD to guess. It's covered in scars and wounds, and has a lot of heavy chains wrapped around each limb. One eye -- its left -- has been gouged out it seems, if you can even see it through the distorted shape of its face, which if you really squint, kind of reminds you of something. Looking at this thing a little too closely gives you that same, bizarre feeling as when you were inspecting that lady's face, along with a slight headache.

Awoo, bitch. Without ANY hesitation whatsoever, it tackles Kiryu and its misaligned teeth dig deep into his arm, ripping the entire thing off. ]

[ eupha winces at the sight of the creature and takes a step back... and gasps sharply when it rips a man's arm off.

what the fuck. she's reaching for a weapon but it will take a second to process that. ]

[ugghh]

[ daigo, even in an au, will always have the power of gun -- except looking at that thing gives him a headache. it isn't the gore (that makes him queasy), it's...

gonna try to shoot this thing. it must face JUSTICE for disarming poor kiryu, this man we just met and whom daigo has never seen before in any reality. ]

[ Kiryu is, predictably, yelling bloody murder as this happens. You do in fact feel like you recognise this beast? But you can't be too fully sure. After all, it barely seems like whoever it once was, it's just a mad dog now.

It will be distracted by having BULLETS shot at it, which do a pretty decent job of landing! Into the torso, into a back leg, though it doesn't stop it from leaping for Daigo next, big meaty claws coming to smash him into the ground pretty hard. Claws through the chest optional.

You can hear Basilio quip 'shite!' somewhere in the chaos too, before coming to try to pull Eupha out of the monster's trajectory. ]

[ basilio can yank her away. but she's pulling out a razor-sharp Supernatural DVD and flinging it at the definitely-unfamiliar beast. ]

[ daigo goes down with a waugh!

all he can do is to keep firing. even if his head hurts - the headache, and now hitting the ground - he has to keep shooting. even if his hands start to shake from adrenaline. just keep shooting. he'll worry about the blood loss later. ]
