[ Eupha can come look at the strange machine. There's a button to turn it on, first off, and it hums to life. You can just see a few simple words on it. Basilio and Kiryu both come peer at it too.

The corpse looks like some person... sike, it's not a man at all! Is it because I changed my mind on the fly because Kelsey said she was terrified? Perhaps maybe so. They look familiar... but there's also a second thing here now that Daigo has approached.

Surprise! You see a familiar(?) figure in the shadows, sat right behind the contraption, against the wall. His knees are pulled up and he's facing down. ]

It looks like it still works...

[ she'll come over to share the news with daigo, and glance at the corpse...s? ]

Can you tell what happened to them?

[ even if they are strangers, they should examine them to find out what danger there is here.

... they are strangers, aren't they? she draws a little closer to the one in the shadows. is he breathing, or...? ]

[ wow, golly, it sure is a good thing daigo has never seen this woman before, let alone as a corpse. that would be weird. ]

[ Help did you turn it on or did you just temporarily walk away from it?

The corpse seems to be outright dead. She's strangely beautiful for a corpse in the depths of some unknown tunnel in some helltown. That is, if you ignore the fact that she's also strangely wet, like she's been fished out of some water recently. You can try to loot the corpse anyway if you feel like doing that for fun.

The smaller one in the shadows... seems to awfully still, doesn't look like it's breathing. But you can kind of hear him mumble something repeatedly, so he must be alive? ]

[ It's very disjointed, almost sounds like he's just reciting stuff. The other two take notice since both Daigo and Eupha's attention are over there now. ]

[ there's no use staring at this soggy corpse, disconcerting though it may be. the only solace here is that this woman doesn't appear to have met a grisly end. is this lady junah? ]

[ The little 'Fidelio' looks up. By all means his body seems as per normal, nothing wrong with it as far as you can reasonably tell even if you didn't have the faintest inkling you know this guy, but his face is definitely not on par. ]

[ she stops short of reaching out for him. the sight of his face makes her blood run cold. ]

[ Is he aggressive or not? It's hard to tell. The 'Fidelio' slowly gets up though even as your picked up party members back away as instructed. ]

[ 'Fidelio' flexes his fingers, clawed fingertips sharp... ]

[ a quick glance at the body on the floor. did she have any wounds we can see, or is she just (genshin voice) wet? ]

We don't have much time to make a decision, it seems.

[ UHHH!!!! surely basilio knows what he's talking about, and daigo isn't going to question it, but. they're in too close quarters to get a good shot, and also, he doesn't want to act rashly. ]

[ Okay! You truly hesitated so Fidelio is going to just suddenly leap at Daigo. He creepily keeps repeating the same previous dialogue in a monotone voice. He's really making use of these clawed hands -- which on closer inspection, seem oddly fleshy and streaked in a way that doesn't seem natural -- to start gouging at Daigo's face.

Elysia is Wet and seems like she has a few rips and gouge marks in her torso, sure! You see something lumpy in a pocket now that you've given her a bit of a closer look. ]

[ she reaches into her pocket to take the thing? what is the thing?

and while she's crouched down doing this i guess daigo is getting his face clawed??? damn this man is going through it today ]

[ even in an au taking place in a murdergame we are canon compliant with daigo always going through it.

I GUESS HE'S GONNA TRY TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF FIDELIO. god his chest hurts so bad he is definitely bleeding worse from the movement of trying to defend himself but also punch fidelio into submission. i suppose i should roll for this. ]

[ Eupha will find two things! One is a brass key with the emblem of an eagle on it.

The other is a series of handwritten letters. Seems like she never got to send them...

Also yeah go ahead and roll. I suppose Kiryu and Bas should be helping but Bas seems a touch hesitant even if he did just say the real Del would probably prefer this guy taken care of. Kiryu can assist you in attacking Doppelganger Fidelio on your roll. ]

[ she will pocket the key. the letters only get a glance; there's no time to read them right now.

and she'll run at fidelio, trying to grab one of his arms and twist it back and away from daigo's face. ]

[ I ROLLED A 14 LET ME FIGHT OFF THIS BEAST i wish i knew the names of any of his punches. haymaker? yeah that sounds about right.

actually no let me reversal counter him so i can use this gif. ]

[ 'Fidelio' has given up the speech it seems. His strange maw opens wide in Daigo's face. It smells awful, like rotting meat. It definitely looked like he was just about ready to bite his face off if it weren't for the timely intervention of Eupha yanking him back, Kiryu giving him a kick, and Daigo coming in with that REVERSAL COUNTER!!! Fidelio's claws do catch and gives Daigo a pretty nasty scratch up his jaw on the way but he slams down on the ground with a bit of a sickening crack. Uh-oh, he landed a bit weird and his neck should not be at that angle.

Even then, it still keeps giving a hollow wheeze, trying to grab at someone's ankles while his kitty tail weakly and awkwardly lashes, but it's getting weaker. Basilio visibly winces at this. ]

I can't watch this.

[ If neither of you do the honours, Bas will, with his kassara that I definitely didn't write as an axe in an early tag and then change my mind. ]

[ she stares in horror at the body, and then it grabs at her ankle as it weakly thrashes (gives her a little clawing as a treat yay)...

but yeah she'll give basilio the honour(??) of finishing it off. unless daigo really wants to. this is hard to watch for a lot of reasons. ]

[ daigo will be foe to people-turned-monster-animals and monster-animal-people alike. he can bear this burden. he certainly doesn't want to, but if it's too difficult for basilio, then yeah, sure, he'll fire into fidelio's mouth-face to put him out of his misery.

god his face fucking hurts. ]

[ We love a good double tap situation don't we? Por que no Los dos. Basilio is looking pretty unhappy about it, while Kiryu is eyeing Elysia's corpse with a look of wariness.

Neither Kiryu nor Bas can really help you with the Telelectroscope in terms of describing what it does. However at least the problem of turning it on seems as simple as a literal switch to be hit. ]
