Honestly I debated making you guys face the terrible clown in here too but there can only be so much shit in one place. Would you like to brave the clearly ominous area of the north hallway, which you are 99% sure will result in a jumpscare, but you may begrudgingly have to, and you meta-ly know it is a part of the horror game genre and it's just a whole thing, but you can acknowledge it sucks anyway... ]

[ Okay something comes busting out of the walls, perhaps entirely predictably, but it sucks anyway.

What the fuck is that thing. It looks like a beast of some sort, canid in shape if you HAD to guess. It's covered in scars and wounds, and has a lot of heavy chains wrapped around each limb. One eye -- its left -- has been gouged out it seems, if you can even see it through the distorted shape of its face, which if you really squint, kind of reminds you of something. Looking at this thing a little too closely gives you that same, bizarre feeling as when you were inspecting that lady's face, along with a slight headache.

Awoo, bitch. Without ANY hesitation whatsoever, it tackles Kiryu and its misaligned teeth dig deep into his arm, ripping the entire thing off. ]

[ eupha winces at the sight of the creature and takes a step back... and gasps sharply when it rips a man's arm off.

what the fuck. she's reaching for a weapon but it will take a second to process that. ]

[ daigo, even in an au, will always have the power of gun -- except looking at that thing gives him a headache. it isn't the gore (that makes him queasy), it's...

gonna try to shoot this thing. it must face JUSTICE for disarming poor kiryu, this man we just met and whom daigo has never seen before in any reality. ]

[ Kiryu is, predictably, yelling bloody murder as this happens. You do in fact feel like you recognise this beast? But you can't be too fully sure. After all, it barely seems like whoever it once was, it's just a mad dog now.

It will be distracted by having BULLETS shot at it, which do a pretty decent job of landing! Into the torso, into a back leg, though it doesn't stop it from leaping for Daigo next, big meaty claws coming to smash him into the ground pretty hard. Claws through the chest optional.

You can hear Basilio quip 'shite!' somewhere in the chaos too, before coming to try to pull Eupha out of the monster's trajectory. ]

No...!

[ basilio can yank her away. but she's pulling out a razor-sharp Supernatural DVD and flinging it at the definitely-unfamiliar beast. ]

[ daigo goes down with a waugh!

all he can do is to keep firing. even if his head hurts - the headache, and now hitting the ground - he has to keep shooting. even if his hands start to shake from adrenaline. just keep shooting. he'll worry about the blood loss later. ]

[ Kiryu may be down an arm but fortunately, this does not stop him from getting up and trying to headlock the Mad Dog of Shimano to stop it from outright ripping Daigo's throat out. Nothing can stop a Yakuza character from continuing to deck things out with their bare hands... hand. Eupha's DVD meets its mark, nicking the beast's hind leg enough to make it stumble and partially collapse. Basilio also gives it multiple hard whacks with his kassara, the rusty blade managing to make some progress through the matted fur.

Forced to rear back as it just takes hits and bullets, the creature lets out a terrible howl that seems to reverberate pretty loudly for all of you, but to Daigo especially. The sound just practically injects you with fear and terror, darkening your vision and bringing up your paranoia. For Daigo, perhaps you get caught up in your head, lost in a scene of the last time you had to face Majima in a strange field after a train ride? Unless you guys have been having more drama in the graveyard since, I don't know your deda lives. ]

[ the initial shock of the situation starts to give way, leaving room for eupha to find her resolve.

while the others drive back the beast, eupha will try to flank it... and she sets the bear trap in its path before trying to get back out of the way of stray bullets. she stops when it lets out that howl, shuddering for a moment... but she stays on her feet. ]

[ that howl makes daigo's blood run cold. shouldn't he have better resolve than this?

there's no time to think about that, as the crushing weight of- a memory? whatever it is - with a person that he should maybe recognize charging at him and running a knife through his gut. he remembers what it feels like. remembers? is that right?

regardless of what it is, the vision comes crashing into his mind. the adrenaline that had been keeping him going completely gone as he's taken over by fear.

is he going to kill me again?

he's frozen in place, unable to pull the trigger anymore. ]

Oi oi, get it together!

Into the trap!

[ Always count on Basilio to add in an encouraging word. With the powers of their two big guys combined, they can probably finally yank the mad dog off of Daigo and into the bear trap that Eupha has so helpfully put up!! Its leg gets caught in it with a violent snap, keeping it in place. It still keeps snarling but it's immobile now. Realistically Basilio could just end this thing but the golden rule is to let your players do it if they want to because that feels way more awesome, unless Eupha is too kind to kill a man-turned-beast, and Daigo is still too much in shock. ]

[ she'll try but all she has right now are more DVDs. so she will throw some more at it. ]

[ daigo is most certainly still in shock, but with the beast off of him, he can realize-- shit, he's bleeding. maybe he actually will die here.

...no, he can't lay down and die. there's things that still need to be done. so, he shakily pulls himself off the ground so he can put this mad down down instead. however many bullets it'll take, he'll unload into its skull.

it's not easy. he doesn't want to. but he has to protect eupha and the others. he has to do something. he's the only one* that can.

*because he's a player character ]

[ It lets out a yelp, but there's really very little it can do against multiple direct attacks and especially a headshot. Rest in peace, old yeller...

Kiryu is bleeding but he lets go of his arm stump to look at this creature... and bend down and take off the very familiar eyepatch, looking at it. He doesn't say anything, but Basilio looks over like. ]

Ain't that the fancy eyepatch that one guy had? The one that bailed on us early...

[ Well. There's just a hole in the tunnel wall now. There's certainly some gasoline canisters there if you'd like to pick them up. ]

Huh...?

[ looking between the eyepatch and basilio, processing that...

okay, that's enough thinking. she runs to daigo's side. ]

You're wounded... You should take this.

[ she hands him the blue vial. is there any more cloth we can find...? she'll look for more as they try to locate that gasoline. ]

Ke... keep it. [ he tries to weakly push the vial back at her. ]

I picked some of those herbs when we were outside.

[ which he will eat!! yaaaay. i have no idea how effective this will be. like if he took 250hp worth of damage and an herb heals like. 30.

anyway back to basilio ]

What do you mean "bailed early"?

[ Eupha sees no extra cloth fragments (healing item) around, though really technically theoretically there's nothing stopping you from simply ripping up stuff you already have. It would just break the game to do so, but we have no qualms really about being game-breaking when you can hack spacetime.

The gasoline comes in a big canister. You can roll it or kick it or deal with it however way you want. Kiryu may be down an arm but he's still got two legs.

Daigo eats some herbs. They give him energy? They make him feel a bit better but it isn't actually like... healing up his wounds or stopping his bleeding. It'll keep you from dying at least which is better than nothing. ]

He was one of the people on the train with us, I think, based on what this bloke over here mentioned. Not that I know a lot, mind you, 'cause he didn't seem all that open to talking about him.
...Not getting a good feeling about this.

but ok. i never gave a fit but i'll just say she's got two layers on, and she's going to start shredding one of them to make some cloth strips for daigo and kiryu. she'll still have a faded graphic tee left to wear. it'll be fine. everybody stop bleeding to death. ]

[ worse comes to worse i'm sure whatever cyberpolice fit i picked for daigo has extra scrap fabric to supplement eupha's. also he says thank you as she does this btw he is polite. ]

There was a generator back past the lockers. That should be what powers the elevator.

[ Thank you for your combined efforts guys, with this you have managed to stop the bleeding. You are no longer losing chunks of HP per every few steps you take... at least until the next strange thing attacks, who knows.

You guys can lug (roll) the gasoline into the generator and you hear a distant clunk, of a comparatively MUCH less threatening variety. Enjoy your elevator ride! As you sink deeper and deeper into the depths...

[ daigo is... aware. calm but that's still probably from blood loss. it's fine. he'll bounce back and no one will be able to tell the difference because of his usual demeanor.

[ Basilio, armed with a gun and keyboard, coming to a mg near you. There's more shelves and supplies here but also there is a pretty hefty looking chest. Wonder what's in it? Want to coinflip and test your luck for some nice loot? All or nothing.

Kiryu is just remaining somber, although he does just kind of squint at Daigo every so often. The 'do I know you?' is mutual. ]
