[their awkward shuffling to try and get past each other to the exit help me. she'll start moving as quickly as she can towards it, but her success in doing so is probably not awesome considering her poor chewed on legs.
we're all doing our best out here and by our best i mean we're doing something]
[unfortunately he is still not wholly trusting of lucas who might carry him and then THROW HIM TO THE WOLVES, SEMI-LITERALLY. with that said, he understands the practicality of lucas's suggestion, so he doesn't want to outright be like no! because he can't justify why the answer is no.
instead he just says nothing and continues to awkwardly move as fast as he can (poorly) towards the exit.]
[BINCH. HE'S SO FUNNY. Well, he's just keeping a wary eye on the other two and on the fact that they're all heading to the same exit and he is in fact a bit confused over the way that they aren't trying to attack with their nasty extendo-tongues but he's not questioning it too hard.]
I really think we should run.
[JUST IN CASE. But he's not just going to scoop Uruha up against his will and book it yet, considering the threat level miraculously seems low.]
[ i cannot believe you guys dont want to attack your friends and then feel bad about it later smh
Well, okay, they all shuffle along towards the slope, ready to tackle MORE climbing until they can finally get to the top. this is what you people chose. climbing.
As they get closer to each other--or maybe it's close enough to the continued mountain path for the boys and the doorway to the next part of the building for the girls (why is my cyoa gendered)--something seems to shift in their perception. For the boys, it's like the skins start to cover up the flesh monsters, slowly, knitting itself together until the two become one regular animal-person wearing clothes. Animals which will be decided by their players. They are bleeding and injured, but it seems to them like they are now looking at an animal version of Neverah and Maomao. There's something a little off in their eyes, but surely that means nothing (Lucas stop thinking about how bright their eyes are).
The same happens to the girls. As they come closer, they become less certain that these robots are malfunctions; or maybe it's similar to what happened with the JQ one, where now the robots start to look familiar. There's damaged parts to both of them, more obviously Uruha, but they are wearing their clothes and do look like Lucas and Uruha to the girls now. They have emoji screen displays and everything, wowie.
Also now that they're closer Maomao will see Zhongli's legs and Neverah will see Taair's body. That's right. Now it's Taair/Yves heavily injured doing its best to survive body and Zhongli/Koharu legs that Lucas is carrying. While Uruha cradles a little drone/baby rabbit. This place is a fucking NIGHTMARE.
[DEFLESHED AND FURRED. Lucas just watches this happen with immediate wariness and confusion, stepping back away from them a bit and toward Uruha. But when the... flesh forms..... and there are just animals standing there with something a little off in their eyes that ISN'T Reliver glow, he's. Well he's still wary but at least he doesn't have x100 paranoia damage, so he's mostly just startled.]
Maomao...? [LOOKING OVER AT THE LOST SOUL which i just remembered they don't realize is lost i think.] —Neverah?
[HELLO. He looks back toward Uruha like ARE YOU SEEING THIS. To them, his little robot face is stressed and confused.]
[there's a moment of concern because the last robot she saw who she thought was a friend ended up needing to get his head set on fire, but that hesitation fades a little when lucas uses actual words. amazing.
she's got hawk features, and she pauses to glance between lucas and uruha, thrown off as well.]
...I don't know how I got here with you three. [if i'm interpreting the opening comment right but zia can shoot me if i'm wrong] Ah - four?
[the last part comes out a little bit more high pitched and surprised, because she's more thrown off by seeing this person who is clearly taair so heavily injured. she's kinda beelining for whoever has him right now.]
There is now a convenient sign near the slope that says tells them IT TAKES TWO. Thanks, sign. That means nothing to anyone.
Going up a little, it becomes quickly clear it's a split path; the right is blocked off by giant boulders that are simply not present for the girls. The left is blocked off by a wall that is simply not present for the boys. (Aka the girls will walk through the rocks and the boys can walk through the wall.)
For the girls, they will reach a room with a massive touchscreen at the back showing a series of symbols they do not recognize. The symbols are a dull blue. The room seems otherwise empty except for a singular door with a key panel that says OFF, but they know better than to trust empty rooms by now.
Luckily, there are instructions.
Match the symbols in order to open the path.
These instructions suck.
For the boys, the mountain path veers seems to abruptly end with an impassable chasm. Well, I guess they could yeet themselves down there if they wanted. But they wouldn't be going up at all, so. Next to the chasm are some tiles of runes with symbols they do not recognize. There are two lines of indents where they can insert the runes, as well as a set of equally unhelpful instructions.
Match the symbol in order to open the path.
Note that they can go back and compare notes but they currently cannot move forward and also i gave you walkie talkies ages ago and now there's someone who finally knows what they are incredible
[everything is still so chaotic and she has no idea why she's here but also it's puzzle time baby!!
she goes past the boulders that only the boys can see and stares into the room for a few moments. she's going to look at the key panel - is there any way it can be turned on or is that a later neve and maomao problem? if it looks like it can turn on she'll glance back at maomao to see if they should do the thing.
either way, she's going to head back out briefly and flag down one of the boys.]
[ she is just going to decide that maybe there's a very good reason for lucas clinging on a leg and just put it to the side for now.
she is still wary, but she is setting that to the side as well. they are all injured and she wishes she had her bandages ]
We'll talk once we get out of here... [ she isn't sure if the flesh rats will come back or if these two will turn on them but... they need to keep moving.
anyways she will follow neve and they will vanish through the rocks for the boys. would they try to follow after? smack into the rock?
she is looking at the panel and just ? ]
Should we try the radios? [ walkie talkies. ] We could ask them what they are for.
[EVERYONE IS JUST LETTING HIM CARRY THIS LEG AROUND. It's okay, he will at least explain to Neverah that Nebulous He is doing fine... And he will also probably bonk into the rocks just by virtue of wanting to try both paths, but that can come after he goes with Uruha off to their own side since he's still prioritizing Uruha first because he is NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED HERE WITH THESE MONSTERS BECOMING RE-SKINNED...
This is fine, though. Once they're near this impassable chasm, Lucas will gently set Yves down on the ground somewhere away from the tiles and chasm so he can move a bit more freely for the time being. He'll keep an eye both on Yves and on his sweet child whenever Uruha brings them in, though. After doing a quick glance around the place:]
What in the world...
[BACK OUT HE GOES since he's thinking about asking the other two the same thing so, to Neve:]
There's a chasm over here, and tiles with strange patterns on them. What about yours?
[uruha is also going to place this rabbit on the ground at some point. looking around... he leaves lucas to go out and do the talking because moving is still hard...
he'll just stare at these symbols and listen to the conversation.]
[ Armed with their walkie-talkie knowledge and the hope that the other group does not betray them by failing an escape room puzzle, the gang walks back.
There's a convenient start button now on the machine. Wow. Also to answer a belated question the door can only open via a magical unlock mechanism of get the tile puzzle right. can you believe you guys could've been fighting each other to the death instead
Now when it starts, Neverah will see a symbol flash first. Maomao, however, will see a different symbol. Uh-oh!
Lucas and Uruha are waiting with their tiles and no idea how it works quite yet, good luck. ]
[she also learned vital flashlight lore and gazed into the middle distance
anyways! watching the symbol flash and using one of the walkie talkies, assuming they left the other with the boys.]
The symbol I saw... Inside the box they all share, the top part of this symbol looks like a checkerboard a bit. There are lines moving down from the checkerboard on the left and right, and those lines taper down eventually and connect at the bottom of the shape.
[THEIR WALKIETALKIES AND FLASHLIGHT LORE. This is fine. Lucas just glances at the symbols on their side.]
Oh... [FROWNS. HOW DO THEY KNOW WHICH TO PUT FIRST. HE ALSO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT A RICEBALL IS so he'll just look at Uruha. He taps one of the symbols - the one he thinks Neverah is describing.]
I think this is the one Neverah saw. Shall I place it first, and you put the other one after?
[ The lines are like [ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ] [ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ] and for the sake of them understanding the puzzle, the boys are putting both symbols on the first line.
Unfortunately, the computer screen turns red at that. There is a buzzer noise coming from somewhere. The good news is, the girls know there was a mistake! The bad news is, the girls will get a shock of electricity through them that leaves an odd feeling of abandonment behind after the pain is over. Burn damage...
There's also the sound of a vent opening somewhere, but that's never worrying.
Don't worry, though! The boys will also know they fucked up from more than screaming into the walkie-talkies. There's a rumble through the Earth like a tiny earthquake as the tiles remove themselves so they can choose something else or enter it in a different order. They will also hear some distant squeaks in the distance. It's too bad they don't have context for those squeaks.
The bunny rabbit and Yves/Taair/various legs have been abandoned on the ground somewhere could you please clarify are they in the puzzle room or the previous room. they are not affected. yet. ]
