There's nothing much happening while they react because we are in set up moments, but currently they can infer that they are somewhere in the slums of this city. The machines are wearing shittier clothes, there's broken down, barricaded windows in the buildings and trash on the ground, some robots missing limbs or in disrepair loitering around, etc. There is a neon-lit sign above a door leading to a basement that lets them know they are near a bar, though they can also attempt to walk out of the slums if they wish.
[ There's equal damage to her robot self as there would be to her human skin. So like, visible cracks for wounds and rust or oil in place of blood, etc. Bandages don't seem out of place to cover that up, going by some of the robots they see walking around.
Neither of them really seem like they fit in the slums, which might explain the various wary (¬_ ´¬ ) and curious (╹ -╹)? expressions they may be seeing thrown their way. ]
[ she will wrap her arm back up after verifying it was all still there and how it looks on robo-skin. ignoring the looks for the moment as she gives a nod of her head. ]
Should we see if we can get a better view from one of those structures? [ tall tall buildings. ]
[ They can try to climb the buildings! There's some obvious ways up, like fire escape stairs, though to get as high as they want they'll have to choose to either go inside a building to see if they can get access there, or they can try parkouring by jumping from one fire escape to a ledge and onto a roof, then continuing to parkour.
The buildings around the slums are smaller than a little further into the city, so if they do pick parkour, this isn't a terrible spot for it. Not too far from where they are there's even some robots passing along some paint cans to each other across two different roofs. ]
[ the following building options are what is closest:
the bar mentioned earlier a laundromat (the roof of which has one of the robots throwing paint cans across to another robot) a few unmarked doors (you would probably need to knock) a shitty apartment complex (this building has the easiest fire escape to climb and is the tallest around the slums) ]
[ your girls are doing your best. for the record the robots walking about truly just keep sending you confused and wary looks still, though they won't start a conversation. the ones on top of the laundromat are absolutely not paying attention meanwhile. sending paint cans across buildings is IMPORTANT work they must FOCUS on. ]
Alright. Let's try the the robots on top of the laundromat.
[ can't wait to get shanked by robots because they interrupted their important work! they will go to the laundromat! is there a way to get up to the roof? ]
[ To get to the roof of the laundromat, luckily they can just take some stairs from the inside of the laundromat. There's bleach and laundry soaps and laundry machines here! Wow! There's a robot sweeping inside, but they don't seem bothered by the girls coming in or going upstairs since this is a public place.
Unfortunately, despite the wave, the robot throwing to their friend across the street was facing away from them as they came up the stairs, and so they startle at being addressed. They drop the paint can they were supposed to receive and it falls right in front of the entrance to the laundromat...
The sweeping robot bursts out outside and starts yelling about TELLING THEM TO BE CAREFUL DAMN IT ]
Uh-oh. [ the robot has a masculine voice and seems to droop ] Now we're in trouble... [ since his friend from across the building seems willing to try to placate the angry laundromat owner, this one turns to the girls ] What is it? If you're looking for change, the machine is down there.
[ the robot repeats this a little baffled ( ╹ -╹)? ]
Are you even from here? [ (ᵕ—ᴗ—) joking ] Everybody knows the only way out is up there, but it's impossible. [ he points up at a building away from them, what appears to be a massive skyscraper that dwarves every other building around and climbs so far up the top isn't visible. Well, to be fair, as they stare up they'll find they can't really see the sky either... The entire thing is obscured by a ceiling. Is the entire city underground? ] The tower's been locked a long time to keep the malfunctions at bay. [ (·•᷄ࡇ•᷅ ) ]
You heard someone talk about climbing up? Musta been one of the Outsiders. They're always talking about that... [ ( `−ㅿ−´) ]
[ he literally jolts when neverah talks about seeing an outsider though, waving his arms around ( ˶°ㅁ°) ]
Of course not! That's why the tower is locked. The malfunctions don't work right. They eat the rest of us for parts... It's dangerous in there. Maintenance are the only ones allowed in, and they've lost people in there before.
[ you may wonder how you could eat a robot for parts. but clearly it's normal don't worry about it!!! ]

This is strange for you, too...?

It is strange. I don't remember seeing anything like this or looking like this.
[ she is going to pull off the bandages from her left arm to check out all the rust and damage to her shell? robot skin? ]
What do you remember before arriving here?

[beyond that, not much about how she came here. after a moment:]
We deserve to find somewhere kinder.

I'll go with you.

Do you think it's possible to make those jumps? [ she will let nev be the judge for if the should try going into buildings or try the fire escape ]

We could also try the bar.

Greetings. We didn't mean to make a mess... we were hoping for some directions.

I see.

Do you know where we might talk to one of the maintenance workers?
[she does not particularly want to know the in depth details of how a robot would eat another robot thanks]
