[ Neverah can find, in the alley, the following things:
- empty metal bucket - paint can (half-empty) - paper bag (empty) - half a metal pipe. the jagged edge is quite sharp? - soda cans (full) - rusty wrench (small)
It is mostly trash. She might have better luck elsewhere, but maybe she can make do with this.
The barkeep is coming back down the stairs as Maomao speaks with the poncho robot. ]
Um. [ (´•︵•`) ] If you see them... please tell them... I'm sorry I didn't come. I hope the sky is as nice as they say. I hope they got to see it.
[ the barkeep is eyeing maomao warily now, but will not stop her if she slips away. ]
[she's going to take the half pipe! and she waves when she sees maomao, heading towards her with a quick peek around the corner to make sure the bartender isn't coming. provided she doesn't see him, she pulls the lanyard out of her pocket.]
I found this from one of the maintenance workers - if we can find the door it corresponds with, I think it should open it...?
They know where the tower is (thataway), and they probably have a way in. The keycard does not have a convenient address, but surely whatever door they use to get in can't be that hard to find. Do they want to explore some more or go to the tower? ]
Nothing will stop them heading that way. Maomao can share the image she received by touching Neverah, and she knows this by instinct. Oooo. Now they both have an image. Oooo.
The tower is a massive, square like building in the center of the city. It takes a bit of a trek to get there. Once they do, there's what is clearly a main door facing the street. There's an intercom next to the doors for contacting anyone inside. They can also try to look around the building for a secret hidden door, since they did get some intel that implied no one comes out the front usually. This will lead them some more alleyways around the building. ]
[ I assume they are going the same way around the building, so they will both come up on a side door to the left at the same time. Wowie. There's a lock that perfectly fits the keycard they have on it...
not that either of them has ever unlocked a door with a keycard but we are letting them have this.
The door is nondescript, and there's no window to tell where it leads. Do they use the keycard? ]
An employee lounge. It's currently empty. There's another door at the end of it that probably leads inside the building proper. Your keycard probably fits in there, too.
They might want to close the door behind them on their way in. They can either go straight into the tower or try to see if any of the employee lockers open and see what's available in them.
There are six lockers total, three on either side of the room. Also in the lounge, there's a coffee machine that serves oil, and both a trashcan and recycling bin that are a little too full.
The door to the tower proper also does not have a window, so there's no telling what awaits them on their way in. ]
[checking the other side! in addition to looking inside them, she's going to be seeing if there are any specific names on the lockers that she can identify.
she's also going to glance in the trash and recycling bins because the phrase too full is making me paranoid. help.]
[ The girls can find the following in the lockers:
- 1 pair of boots - 2 work overalls - a strong flashlight - a matching pair of walkie-talkies! which would be incredibly funny to dismiss because they don't know what those are - a flask that contains oil - one non-rusted wrench (decent size)
Neverah looks for names and sees things like Workman 0708, Lucas, Workman 22106, Workman 3615, Workman 4554, and Jiaoqiu. All these names seem equally normal.
The locker for Lucas is the one that contains the flashlight, and the one for Jiaoqiu has the flask. Okay then.
The trash is full of robot parts. Some of these are hard to identify, especially for two girls who are not used to robots, but some of them are straight up bits of robotic limbs. The recycling bin is full of papers, because that goes in the recycling. The pamphlet at the top seems to be workers' instructions. It reads as follows:
WHAT TO DO IF YOU ENCOUNTER MALFUNCTIONS:
1. Run
There's nothing else written on it.
Another piece of paper under that mentions to be careful of rats. It seems rather out of place in a city that has 1) no human food 2) no signs of actual life 3) no rats? ]
[she'll grab the flask and the flashlight unless maomao would like either! she does not actually know what the flashlight does but it looks heavy. maybe they will need to break something later......]
Feel free to take anything else you'd like, but it might be a good idea to move on before anyone else enters.
[glancing at the windowless door leading further into the tower]
[ there's oil in the flask. it's one of those alcoholic flasks but there's just ... oil in it...
You guys can take whatever you like and look for anything else that might be here in secret, just make sure you put down what you're carrying and/or wearing so that it is easy to find through the cyoa. this is my real reason for inventory talk
For the record, while there were a lot of bustling city sounds outside, it is eerily quiet in the employee room. The ventilation does not seem to be working, so it's also hot. Not that they can tell, being robots. ]
[ she's in her little flats so she's putting on the boots instead. putting on cover-alls. grabbing the walkie-talkies and offering neverah one! taking wrench

That will be useful.
[ they are both ye olde they will figure it out ]
The robot I was speaking to had a friend try to climb the tower. They are waiting for a signal and showed me an image of the...receiver?
[ do they want to look around or go go go? ]

[as long as maomao doesn't have any objections, she'll start to hear that way! but she'll also grab the wrench and hand it to her.]
Maybe it'll come in handy.
