SIGHS and keeps her cloak over her face. it'd make sense for the tiles to be random. that's what she'd do. but this is puzzles and stuff so the path she's going to attempt to take is mirrored from what she did on the other side, because that sounds about right for this shit.]
[she can pull the lever! i wasn't gonna make you roll, but that's fine - she evades setting off any further traps, but she will still get bitten in the dark by hundreds of tiny squeaking mouths.
anyway, now the lanterns on that side of the room lower as well.]
[ But.. success? Koharu eagerly puts some distance between herself and the room, carefully inching toward the lowered lanterns lest she get catapulted somewhere else again. ]
[yes. there are four lanterns on each side, in a perfect circle around the statue. they are lowered now so you can see that all of them have lit candles. four were lowered by the lever on the left and four by the lever on the right.
and then in the center of all of those lanterns is that forcefield that yeeted koharu. it's invisible, but if you go past the lanterns and too near the altar, it's going to yeet you at mach fuck into the wall.]
[okay both of you extinguish your candles. depending on your wishes, you may or may not accidentally get too close to the forcefield and yeet yourself while trying to do so, but eventually you get them all.
the room is now pitch black, and in the darkness, you can see a visible ring of glowing light around the altar. it is actually two concentric rings and each has a gap in it, so if you slip through the gap, you can avoid hitting the forcefield.
at the center of the forcefield, there is an altar with a knife on it.]
[she says, slipping through after her. just going to go ahead and inspect the knife for additional secret traps, but otherwise? she picks that baby up.
and holds out a hand expectantly for koharu. here. paw.]
[it seems your offering was accepted. a glowing orb appears, ready to be taken. you can take a moment to regroup and discuss, or you can choose a door to unlock immediately.
[ Her blood falls, and Koharu shudders, wings fluttering as she does. But once the feeling comes and goes, she simply shoots W an expression of surprise before her head dips back down, cradling her hand close. ]
[ There isn't an immediate response; Koharu instead only looks W over, bites at her bottom lip while appearing conflicted, and then shrinks by some, turning away. ]
[hm. she listens, one hand set on her hip as she considers.]
... obviously, we're going to have to stay in this together, and if shit starts happening to you that you don't say anything about? I can't help you with that!
[her tail swishes idly.]
Just something for you to think about. We'd better get going.

I— I— I don't know I went to check a lever out in there and suddenly there was smoke and then I ran into something and got thrown?!

[looks at koharu stammering

[owww. ugh. time to check out these lanterns and stuff. 4 on each side right? and they each have candles?? what is the layout again...]

[ Frankly, she has no idea! Koharu looks around, brow furrowed. ]
We can't get too close... Do you think we have to put out the candles first?
no subject
You take that side.
[she's going to take one set of 4 and see if they can be extinguished.]

Why did—what just... happened?
no subject
[she blinks at her, looking her over.]
... explain whatever happened, first.
[if she's got an answer then she sure doesn't know it based off "something occurred".]

It's nothing—I think the pain just got to me.

[ Well... time to pick up this orb. After a deep exhale to regain her bearings, Koharu lifts it up, turning to go back whence they came. ]
You wanted to open the door with 'Treasure' on it, right?
no subject
[sacred path or whatever? she read that, like, ten minutes ago, okay.]

R- right. Okay. Umm...
[ They go back!! I'm assuming it's an easy, short trek. And at the doors, Koharu lifts the orb to the door going right. ]
