fending: (oh we'll definitely consider it)

What's that mean, if a batch of newly dead showed up tomorrow we'd be glowin' like this to them?

[ ...

irritated sigh. ]

I can't wear these.
fending: (with a gun to my head i wouldnt try that)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-12 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Why'd you just now start this whole program after all this time, anyway?

[ hm... gingerly takes the hat and puts it on, then glances into the mirror on the display table. ]

This looks stupid.
fending: (is it you SIFT every 20 minutes...?)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know, never really wore one before.

[ maybe it actually looks fine and he just isn't used to seeing himself in one, who knows ]

Can we ask them questions?
fending: (i'm willing to use this)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
[ looks in the mirror again like :\ ]

I think their motives are a lot more relevant to that question, actually.

[ but FINE... ]

All right, how about some logistical questions instead, then? For one, is this a one-chance sort of thing? Like, say someone passes your test with flying colours and gets sent back. If some months later they died again, would they be able to do the whole redemption thing again? Or was that their only additional chance, and the next time they're dead, they're dead?
fending: (that's... something i hadn't thought of)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
What? Are they temporarily invincible or somethin'? I get not sending 'em back to die again in the same situation, but a few months out seems like it'd be hard to guarantee.
fending: (it doesn't smell like nature)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
No, but it's not nothin' either. Enough time for things to spiral out of control on a big scale.
fending: (i'm working on it)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
I mean, sure, but... it's complicated.

I need to make sure Bas gets back there is the important part. Unless there's some catch you're not tellin' us about, anyway.
fending: (being a vet... is not great)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ sure, you SAY that!! ]

Course he doesn't.

[ but basilio's always cared more about whether fidelio lived or died than he ever did himself. ]

He's the one in the middle of somethin' important. At the point he came from, I've already been dead for a while, and the power he's got there he's only got because I'm dead. If I were alive again, then, what, my magla all just comes back to me? Or things change so that he never awakened in the first place?

Might as well put the world right in Louis's hands if the one group opposing him loses their strongest fighter.

[ ...and beyond that, basilio's grown a lot in that time now that he doesn't have fidelio doing all his thinking for him and holding him back. ]
fending: (don't let me forget)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-13 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. He's got a real pure heart, and he's not afraid to follow it. I'd wager the only reason I didn't go straight to hell is 'cause of him.
fending: (the vet never seemed to notice)

[personal profile] fending 2025-02-14 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
...S'pose that's fair.

For people we knew who died around the same time we did... if they're not here, does that mean they already got sent to one place or the other?
