I thought it looked nice. But you should only wear what you want to wear.
[ people are in charge of their own appearance! they tip their head to one side, thoughtful. ]
They're a little bit busy at the moment. You can think of us as your messengers and ask us anything, instead. Though for this specific question you might just want to think more about your own goals than God's personal motives.
I think their motives are a lot more relevant to that question, actually.
[ but FINE... ]
All right, how about some logistical questions instead, then? For one, is this a one-chance sort of thing? Like, say someone passes your test with flying colours and gets sent back. If some months later they died again, would they be able to do the whole redemption thing again? Or was that their only additional chance, and the next time they're dead, they're dead?
Sure. Should someone earn redemption and choose to take a second chance at life, they won't be sent back just to die again so soon. There isn't an exact timeframe, but... I wouldn't worry about that kind of situation.
Still, when they do eventually die, whenever that may be, they'll have already earned their way into Heaven. Unless their character has changed drastically during the rest of their lifeāin which case entry may be revoked.
What? Are they temporarily invincible or somethin'? I get not sending 'em back to die again in the same situation, but a few months out seems like it'd be hard to guarantee.
Not exactly. I wouldn't recommend returning to life to test that theory. Just... it would be a pointless thing to give someone a second chance only for them to die in a slightly different way a moment later.
Yes, that makes sense. That's... [ another pause like they are doing some mental math here. ] ... Quite a while.
In any case, I'm sure everyone's instinct is to avoid dying. And knowing that it's something of a risk in any life but choosing to go back regardless means they have something important they want to get back to.
[ but basilio's always cared more about whether fidelio lived or died than he ever did himself. ]
He's the one in the middle of somethin' important. At the point he came from, I've already been dead for a while, and the power he's got there he's only got because I'm dead. If I were alive again, then, what, my magla all just comes back to me? Or things change so that he never awakened in the first place?
Might as well put the world right in Louis's hands if the one group opposing him loses their strongest fighter.
[ ...and beyond that, basilio's grown a lot in that time now that he doesn't have fidelio doing all his thinking for him and holding him back. ]
[ they listen to this quietly, then give a pensive nod. ]
Sometimes we can't be there to see things through ourselves. But if you know that's how things should be... [ well. he'd know more about his own situation. they won't try to talk him out of it. ] He has a duty. A responsibility. And for it, your sacrifice was necessary.
Then he should be fine. It sounds like there isn't much that you need to do to make sure he gets his second chance.
[ and they think that these aren't the words of someone who belongs in hell, so they kind of doubt that's true. but if that's what he thinks... ]
If that's the case, the best thing you could do would be to make sure you're in Heaven waiting for him, when he's finished with his life. Which means working towards your own redemption.
That's a complicated question. There are so many different worlds and timelines that unfortunately I'm not able to answer that... We're only able to keep watch over this group, here and now.

Can we ask them questions?

I need to make sure Bas gets back there is the important part. Unless there's some catch you're not tellin' us about, anyway.

Why him and not yourself? Do you think he feels the same way?

Course he doesn't.

For people we knew who died around the same time we did... if they're not here, does that mean they already got sent to one place or the other?
