Unfun questions are fine. I'd be asking a lot of them if I was on the other side of the scenario myself. The easy one is the book--it's just the reference for the protocols we've been using. It glows for the same reason we glow. [ for jing yuan they pause and mull it over ] Are you asking what happened to make him act, or what happened to him on Sunday?
It's pretty bare bones in the book. It reads like a law document.

A few people have come forward to say there's a disease from his home he might have been inflicted with. It drives people mad. I'm willing to go with that theory for now, but I don't know enough about him, the disease or about what happened that night to say for sure. We don't think it was an outside influence right now, at least, since it's impossible for anyone to access heaven like that.
On Sunday... I have no idea. He was supposed to board a train, and the only thing I can think of is maybe the heightened emotions between him and Jiao made things react, but heaven doesn't really work like that?
Oh... not surprising but somehow I wanted heaven to be more fun about it.

Hmm... [ she nods, thinking it over. ] I don't know enough about him or his world, but if enough think it's plausible, I'll consider it, too. It sounds like a lot of things in heaven weren't working as expected, huh? It really makes you think.

Not worried isn't quite the word for it. At this time, I think assuming it's interference instead of a glitch is paranoid. That doesn't mean we're not keeping an eye out and keeping the possibility in mind. [ they shake their head ] If it really was the disease for Jing Yuan, then it won't happen again. That's something.
It's like they don't want their protocols to be read.

It is better to be cautious, especially if someone weird happens once. You don't want to be caught off guard, especially since you're here to help. I'll take everyday as it comes...

I like plans. I like being in control and knowing things. It comes with the territory of what my life's been like for a while. [ they shake their head without explaining that; ] Which is why every bit of this is infuriating, but it's worse for all of you, so.
What about you? Is taking every day as it comes natural?
It depends on which part of my life you mean. Sometimes, there's little other choice, but I did like coming up with some plans as contingencies. I wouldn't say I'm passive, as a person.
[ but sometimes, you live in a memory world, and memories don't usually introduce anything new. ]
What has your life been like that makes plans so necessary?
It's hard to explain. It wasn't so much necessary as it was just something I needed to do. And it's not like I object to a little chaos. [ they could not be any more vague if they tried ] Maybe it's less plans and more that I like being in control.
Even guides can have people to rely on. I don't think that should stop because of your duty. It's only... if it's whether you don't want it, but that'd sound a little lonely to me.
