I don't think I like your Sanctists very much. [ just throwing that out there. ] Well. Where I'm from, we have holidays at different times of the year for different occasions. They're celebrations, and while there are plenty that only fall on one day a year the festivities stretch out for days, and sometimes even weeks. This one is for a day called Valentine's Day. It's... a holiday about love.
[ and their tone is one of wry amusement. ]
I came mostly for some extra flowers. But we can look around if you want?
They do sound like people I would like to meet. [ they've been curious since eupha's mentioned a little about her home, admittedly. it isn't affection week anymore, but they do nudge her gently as a way to guide her along so they can start walking to explore the stalls in the marketplace. ]
Valentine's Day is a holiday people celebrate where I'm from, yeah. Most people think of it as a very romantic holiday because it's to celebrate the one you in love with, but it can be about love for other people, too. It's common to give gifts to people to express your affections for them, or just to be kind. When I was little we used to give out cards and candy to everyone in the class. But as you get older it starts to be reserved more for people you're close to.
[ they refuse to believe their love is real, but they also think it's funny and refuse to crush eupha's dreams, so. ]
They might find Halloween more romantic, but I'm sure they'll be happy as long as they're together. [ haha. ]
I haven't entirely decided yet. I have a few projects I could do. Flower crowns, drying and pressing them, things like that. [ it's probably a little obvious that it's for nothing of use, but something to keep them and their hands busy. ] I don't want to take them from the garden by the church but these seem to restock easily enough.
Anything with a lot of color. But our summers would always get very hot and humid, so not all flowers survived that well. The resilient ones are my favorite. [ ... ] And I suppose carnations are nice.
[ in fact, they reach over once they reach a stall and pull out a red one to show her. ]
I've worked with them on and off. Think I mentioned before I've had plenty of jobs before this. Some of them were working with flowers. Creating wreaths, replanting flowerbeds, things like that.
[ they also grab a pink one to show her the difference. ]
They come in a lot of colors, and they're easy to work with. [ a pause. ] But I think I like them because it was the first flower someone ever gave to me. A white one, with a little baby's breath.
We can grab several kinds and take them back to the mansion. I can help you pick the best ones that'll still look nice when they dry.
[ little task! but oh, yeah. ]
I didn't know them at all then, no. At the time, they were someone I'd met once, because their friend meddled to tell me they thought I was cute. [ they sound both amused and exasperated by this. ] They sent me the flower as an apology so we could try again.
I think continuing to do what you were working on before last weekend is a start. Reflecting on your lives, meeting new people, learning a little more about who you are and what you want to return to... things like that. God's taking all of that into account. And after everything I think the important thing is to keep going.

[ all her homies hate sanctism. ]
I'd like that! I'd love to know more about this custom. Do they celebrate it where you come from?

You said you are looking for flowers? What do you wish to use them for?

This is a carnation? It really is vibrant...

You were gifted a flower? Was this from someone you knew well?

Oh...! That's very sweet of them. Did you... try again, then?
no subject
For a little while, yes. We didn't last very long as a couple, but we're still friends. I think we always would have worked better that way anyhow.
no subject
Have you found anyone else since then?
no subject
[ and because they see no reason to avoid a direct question: ]
But I have, yes. They have, too. We were all fairly close. [ they say "were" because, well, they are here. ]

It's just me here.

I'd thought that guardian angels would have more freedom than the rest of us, to go where they please.

Do you know how long this trial of redemption will be for us?
no subject
It's seven more weeks now. [ they say, not realizing that metaphors have extremely weird weeks. ]
no subject
[ yeah. ]
Is there anything we ought to do during this time, to ensure we do not stray from the path of redemption?
no subject
[ but hold the hell up. ]
—did you say 35 days?
no subject
Yes, seven weeks.
