[ after contending with distressed teens and young adults, zhongli can't help the instinct to offer some comfort. ]
Understandably so. [ though hopefully the angels aren't getting a bunch of aggro people today... ] Many of us would have been glad to see him off of our own volition. Upsetting as it may have been.
Very, very few would have wanted this to happen. Do you believe it has something to do with the reason for or source of the barriers from Thursday?
[ well. they appreciate the comfort, at any rate! ]
You are all already dead. But that doesn't change that this feels like a tragedy. That what happened Thursday night and what happened today were awful.
I'm not sure. For multiple things to go wrong at once, it would make sense for them to be connected. At the same time, often when there's an error in a code... it ripples out. If one thing goes wrong, it can have an effect on things that aren't completely related, just from corrupting whatever thin tether binds everything together as a whole.
[ if you're not a teen or young adult that's fine he's offering it to anyone emotionally competent enough to show they're unhappy. i'm not yaywonning. ]
Death might have taken us, true, but our souls are still here. [ agreeing ] We can still feel the grief of it all.
[ he doesn't fully get the code analogy but by translating it to ley lines in his own mind, it instantly makes sense. ]
Do you believe that this error in the code, for Heaven, came from an external or internal source? Or Jing Yuan himself, perhaps, having carried something with him that emerged from a dormant state?
Our souls are still here. And theirs are still somewhere, too. I feel sad... But I'm not sure if it's the same as the grief I would feel for lost lives.
[ the sentiment may be callous, depending on how you look at it, but at least their tone is slow and uncertain, like they're working through this in real time. anyway, they shake their head. ]
I don't know. Jiaoqiu mentioned the mara to me, and that may have been relevant. And no outside sources should be able to interfere with Heaven... But I don't want to give you an answer that I'm not confident in. We need more time to look into it.
I understand. For you, it is a different sense of loss than those that don't hold the position or experience that comes with being an angel of Heaven.
[ he's the last person to judge, considering how differently the adepti and other such entities have looked at the world. but he'll stand on the bridge between the angels and the others. ]
Thank you for your honesty, Ramiel. Should I find out something amongst our companions, or see any signs that might point us to an answer, I'll let the three of you know. I know that... investigations and finding answers, these things do take time. But I hope that it won't happen again in the meantime.
You cannot be everywhere all at once, whereas we are roamers exploring the places that you've made available to us. It's better to at least keep one another abreast of what we find.
With it being fixed, will you be able to keep another glitch like it from forming..?

Are you alright, Ramiel? You were just as forced as we were to be there, yeys?

I'm okay. I don't know. I wanted to go, but we were just going to see him off. To say goodbye.
[ ... ]
How are you?

[ speaking of, it's still affection week. zhongli will come to join them, hands extending, palm up, in an offer of comradery and support. ]
I would have gone of my own volition, as well, but for it to have gone the way it did - I'm fairing better than others, but regardless troubled.

I'm sure that everyone is upset, even those who are handling it in their own way.
And I don't blame them. Goodbyes are hard enough when they aren't like... that.

Still. We don't expect this to happen again. We just need to find the source of the glitch and smooth it out. One-off glitches are like that.

We should be able to. Once we know the flaw, it will be easier to implement precautionary protections against it.

[ we're still holding hands so gives squeeze to them. ]
I will let others know, should they not come to speak to any of you on the matter.

Thank you. We intend to offer full transparency, but I'm sure it will help if all of you remain in communication with one another as well.
