We are now, yes. But we weren't when we first met. I didn't get along with any of them the first time we met, actually. I thought we were far too different to be friends.

Well he did dream up a car for a graduation present. A few of us are taking it for a cross-country roadtrip when I get back. I think he's staying behind to spend the summer with his boyfriend though.

And it still doesn't feel crazy to you even if it is a little believable?

Oh, it does for sure! But I can't really think you're telling me a made up story at this point.

You're right, I wouldn't. Not after I spent so long wishing to see something like this for myself in the first place. And now there are different stories from this place I can tell them. Adam will listen politely and think it sounds ridiculous and question everything. Ronan will want to know more about what rules he could have gotten away with breaking here before he got kicked out. And Gansey would want to know everything and ask the most detailed questions that only he, personally, would ever care about.

Not everything, but there are plenty of things I've learned about all of you that I'm sure they'll find just as hard to believe. It'll be fun, I think.

What do you think would be your craziest stories to tell?

[batterypack]

Hm... [ she has to think about this, because some of you truly are buckwild to her. ] Maybe the island Yves, Lucas and Adolphe are from. Or maybe Gam and Ram's home. There are people like you and Shadowheart and Anders, too. Magic and unique beings everywhere.

Magic is unusual to you, even with spirits around?

For me personally, yes. I don't have the same abilities my family does, so it's something I've grown up around but I've never really seen or experienced myself until recently.

Oh. Sounds like it must be a genetic thing...

Little bit, yeah. It's hard to say what, exactly, caused me not to have them but I've grown used to it. There are other ways I can help and that counts for something.

Right... What do your family members usually use it for?

[batterypack]

Seeing the future. My family is full of psychics. So they know all sorts of abilities to be able to see someone's fate and future events.

Oh—wow. That... sounds like a lot.

It is. It was always a lot growing up and it continues to be a lot, and even knowing my own fate from the time I was about six you eventually get used to it.

... Is it a good thing to know what your future is?

[batterypack]

Some people think so. I think knowing mine was actually worse, but it was better to know at the time. And sometimes we would know the fate of some people and... it would be difficult to know how to tell them at all.

I bet... So your family does this for a lot of people?

[batterypack]

Oh, yes. We have a phone line and everything solely dedicated to people calling in for readings, if they don't book in-person readings at the house in the first place.

Oh... Like a fortune telling business, huh... Only, this time it's real.

Exactly. There are other people who exist in the world who advertise readings who aren't really gifted, or psychics who are better and charge more money, but we have a pretty steady business as it is.
