What do you think would be your craziest stories to tell?

Hm... [ she has to think about this, because some of you truly are buckwild to her. ] Maybe the island Yves, Lucas and Adolphe are from. Or maybe Gam and Ram's home. There are people like you and Shadowheart and Anders, too. Magic and unique beings everywhere.

Magic is unusual to you, even with spirits around?

For me personally, yes. I don't have the same abilities my family does, so it's something I've grown up around but I've never really seen or experienced myself until recently.

Oh. Sounds like it must be a genetic thing...

Little bit, yeah. It's hard to say what, exactly, caused me not to have them but I've grown used to it. There are other ways I can help and that counts for something.

Right... What do your family members usually use it for?

[batterypack]

Seeing the future. My family is full of psychics. So they know all sorts of abilities to be able to see someone's fate and future events.

Oh—wow. That... sounds like a lot.

It is. It was always a lot growing up and it continues to be a lot, and even knowing my own fate from the time I was about six you eventually get used to it.

... Is it a good thing to know what your future is?

[batterypack]

Some people think so. I think knowing mine was actually worse, but it was better to know at the time. And sometimes we would know the fate of some people and... it would be difficult to know how to tell them at all.

I bet... So your family does this for a lot of people?

[batterypack]

Oh, yes. We have a phone line and everything solely dedicated to people calling in for readings, if they don't book in-person readings at the house in the first place.

Oh... Like a fortune telling business, huh... Only, this time it's real.

Exactly. There are other people who exist in the world who advertise readings who aren't really gifted, or psychics who are better and charge more money, but we have a pretty steady business as it is.

Well, you're not lying about it, so... I guess that's okay.

Of course not. They have way more integrity than to lie, even though they could. They would never, and I would never forgive them if they did anyway.

There's probably a lot more pride involved when there's real psychics around, huh? I'm pretty sure it's all fake back where I'm from.

It would be like if someone went around pretending to be a cupid and attributing certain things to their own doing rather than acknowledging they're natural occurrences or coincidences, and thereby undermining the work of real cupids.

Haa... That probably happens a lot anyway, since we work in secret.

Still! It's insulting to a craft you've obviously spent your time learning and honing to be precise.
