Lack of heavenly signature, I think you just answered your own question. Sort of how the Angels can tell what things are touched by one of us, and what things are done by one of you. You're not fully integrated to heaven itself, but you were always meant to see your guides. Maybe their level of signature got adjusted for all of you.
[ acceptable counts, and when it sinks into the pocket they nod. ]
So we were only meant to see them, and then this god of yours was like well, whatever, guess you just keep working over here, but you don't need a face! God's kind of a dick, huh.
[it's only a slightly better shot this time bc these are mid ass rolls, but. it is still an improvement, and she manages to sink the next ball a bit more cleanly.]
[ they lean against the table to watch her go... ]
God's... [ how to explain their feelings on god. ] Yeah, maybe God's kind of a dick. But it's not like I didn't suspect that when I got here, and they try to treat the girls well. That's what I care about.
Originally I don't think the plan included me, since God reached out and asked them. I'm the one who came and asked God instead. [ so yeah, only meant to see the angels. ] God and I have always had a weird relationship, I think. Being here at all is kind of a surprise.
Oh, yeah. [ that probably puts some context into why they're not too upset here. ] I heard about the project, and I needed a job, so... I thought it might help to have an extra set of hands and eyes but not be as involved as the Angels. And the bar was already here, so I asked to take over.
[ this is also more of a soft sentiment that they're not sure she'll fully get, but they continue anyway. ]
And part of it was I figured I could help where I could by listening to whatever people had to say that they couldn't tell everybody else. You know how bars are. [ they have referred to bartenders as a poor man's therapist and they stick by that. ]
[arknights has therapy! she knows what that is. she has never once attended.]
No wonder you don't mind this group, then, you're just like half of 'em! Gross.
[but she doesn't say it with disgust, just like. ah, you people and your wanting to be there for everybody, you big softies.
followed up with, completely teasing:]
I was starting to worry this was one of those sneaky, like, "ooh, I'm actually in charge here, let me just sneak in here and stay hidden and nobody will ever suspect a thing!" setups.
See, you get it. [ but there's a little laugh because yeah, yeah. gross. ] Maybe it's just because I kinda wish somebody had done that for me once upon a time. But that didn't pan out.
[ there's a snort then, derisive. ]
Like I'd know what to do being in charge. Would that even change anything, you think?

Is it? I keep telling you guys I'm not a guardian angel. My rules from God are a little different.
[ this time they miss, so now she may have the stick. ]

[she takes the stick, and manages... an acceptable enough attempt at one of the striped balls. it juuust barely tips into the pocket.]

Not bad. Next move's yours, too.

[huh. she folds her arms on the edge of the table, the game forgotten for now.]
What for? Just curious about how all of this was gonna go?
