Oh, yeah. [ that probably puts some context into why they're not too upset here. ] I heard about the project, and I needed a job, so... I thought it might help to have an extra set of hands and eyes but not be as involved as the Angels. And the bar was already here, so I asked to take over.
[ this is also more of a soft sentiment that they're not sure she'll fully get, but they continue anyway. ]
And part of it was I figured I could help where I could by listening to whatever people had to say that they couldn't tell everybody else. You know how bars are. [ they have referred to bartenders as a poor man's therapist and they stick by that. ]
[arknights has therapy! she knows what that is. she has never once attended.]
No wonder you don't mind this group, then, you're just like half of 'em! Gross.
[but she doesn't say it with disgust, just like. ah, you people and your wanting to be there for everybody, you big softies.
followed up with, completely teasing:]
I was starting to worry this was one of those sneaky, like, "ooh, I'm actually in charge here, let me just sneak in here and stay hidden and nobody will ever suspect a thing!" setups.
See, you get it. [ but there's a little laugh because yeah, yeah. gross. ] Maybe it's just because I kinda wish somebody had done that for me once upon a time. But that didn't pan out.
