Was there some kind of.... Job listing when this experiment was first brought up? What was it supposed to be for you?

Not a job listing, no. God simply reached out to me. Then we had a long talk over tea about what the job was supposed to look like and the goals they hoped to achieve.

[ there's a slight. pause here. ]

Obviously it's gone rather off-course from their intentions.

Anyway, I just like to help people. And as a member of the Sisterhood, I've always dedicated my life to serving the Lord.

[I don't think star rail has nuns. Or at least, they haven't shown them yet.]

That's what I've heard. What was the original plan? Something much less... Murderous?

What is the Sisterhood?

The original plan was exactly as it was presented to you on arrival. Eight weeks in a small slice of paradise to prove yourselves capable of growth. Redemption, if you need it. An easier test for some than others, but nonetheless one that was meant to be dealt to you with no interference. No outside temptations. No outside influence.

If given the chance, God believed that many would make better choices than they had the opportunity to make in life. Even if the timeframe isn't long, it's better than having no chance at all.

[ her eyes glance away from firefly for a moment, staring off at nothing. she sighs, and returns her attention. ]

Oh, the Sisterhood is a group I belong to in my home. We offer community services and try to brighten the lives of others around us.

[Follows her gaze into nothing.]

Did something just happen...?

It sounds like you were well suited to this position... But why were you on this side of this place is only really for emergencies?

[sprayandpray]

No, not just now—I'm sorry. It's just...

Well, we were hired by God before they retired.

We were meant to assist the New God with this project as emergency backup while they mostly worked with their own hired Guardian Angels. But it seems our existence was never communicated to them, and with communications and transportation down between this side and the other...

God can retire like that?

[Aeons can eat each other, it doesn't seem too out of place.]

Oh... So its a lot less organized than it could've been? I wonder if whatever is on their side had a hand in this too...

[sprayandpray]

We spoke of it extensively in our meeting. They felt they had been at the job long enough, and after looking at the world around them, decided it was the right time. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes is what a job really needs, after all.

[ she's a nun, she really can't question god's judgment. ]

I don't know if I'd say that. Sometimes different departments don't really interact unless they need to... And we thought it perfectly possible we'd never see anyone over here. But I think it's likely that whatever took down our communication and transportation is connected to what's happening to people on the other side. I can't imagine so many unrelated things going wrong at once.

It was just... Unfortunate timing that it's happening during a transfer of power when the more experienced God is no longer available.

When God retires, they're gone? [Dead?] Or... unreachable?

This seems like too many coincidences to be able to write off... Did anybody else know the previous God was stepping away?

I believe they planned to go on a vacation, but I would have hoped they weren't unreachable in case of emergencies.

[ but. she sees no evidence of them returning to help. BUT ALSO SHES A NUN SO SHE CAN'T REALLY BRING HERSELF TO GET TOO CRITICAL OF THE PREVIOUS GOD....... ]

I don't believe it was widely known information across Heaven, yet. The news will likely break after this project... Yet I feel that you're right - it's such a specific time for something so unexpected to happen.

[ Attempts to imagine Nanook on vacation and fails entirely. ]

What kind of vacation would the previous God take?

Was it just... the three angels involved in the project and the current God?

I didn't ask. But this is Heaven, so any kind they would like, probably.

As far as we are aware of, yes. Us, as back up. Then God, their Guardian Angels... and Gabriel.

And Gabriel...? Did they get looped into the experiment later?

[sprayandpray]

Oh, no. They've been a part of this project from the beginning. God must have decided it would be nice to have an extra set of hands.

[fightolive]

I met them in the tavern before... anyway. How well do you know everyone involved?

[sprayandpray]

Well... Kiraman and Mary and I all arrived about 7 months before the project began. We spent that time preparing together, so I think I'm very familiar with the two of them by now.

[fightolive]

That's a pretty long time to work together... Do you know when things began to break down here?

[sprayandpray]

Our communications and transport went down near immediately. It took until the project began for us to finally get some semblance of repairs done.

[fightolive]

That fast? That seems strange too.

[sprayandpray]

It does, doesn't it...

Did... it seem prone to going down? Or were there any signs of tampering?

I don't know as much about technology as other people.

[sprayandpray]

Ahhh... I'm also not the best with that kind of thing so you'd be better off asking Kiraman. He's the one that's really done all the repairs.

I do believe that. Even with how everything's gone.

I don't think somebody would take this job if they didn't.
