If we can remove the temptation entirely, that would be safest, wouldn't it? I just don't want a repeat of the weekend. And the way it's changed seems almost designed to make sure there is a repeat.

Pretty sure there's something in the bible about resisting temptation or what-have-you. But if a repeat of this past weekend happened that would be very impressive when the most we can understand is what happened with Jing Yuan was succumbing to a disease that can affect his people. If someone were to repeat the actions because of an apple... wouldn't that be different because they're knowingly doing it? I don't know why the apples changed, but this trial period is about proving you can handle a second chance. Maybe that means temptation, too? But we will check with God. It doesn't seem like something they would put into action, but with protocols being the way they are maybe we've overlooked something.
I do not think the apples will give someone the same disease Sir Jing Yuan succumbed to, just that they seem almost designed to drive people to kill. And he killed because he succumbed to that disease.
Regardless of whether it is knowingly chosen or not, I think everyone here would prefer to avoid more deaths and more trials. Resisting temptation is one thing, and of course we will try to. But I fear that resisting temptation may be easier said than done for many of us.
After all, if we were not the type to be tempted, we wouldn't need a second chance in the first place...
It seems as if they may only make a person feel that way if there's a wish they want granted, or something they desire that those apples could fulfill. Pretty sure they're also still normal apples... you can still pick them and eat them without murdering someone. But sure thing.
