[MAYBE HE WILL. You could just be more forthcoming about yourself, Caspian.

Not Caspian's permanent VR chat.]

Is there a reason the two of them don't agree?

[Like, he could hazard a guess, but maybe better not to assume before being like lol us too.]

[ actually I'm going to force you into multiple memshares, fuck you. because... ]

Hard to itemize it as a list, I think.

[ and as they pass a puddle, viktor can get a sense of the conflict from this to 12:20, and continued from here to sure, let's say 16:40. you've seen this, have fun. ]

[STOP HE NEEDED THE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION slaps your damn memories away. the way i got distracted watching all of that FUCK.

Anyway, this is his future, but he doesn't know, so funny. He does have to stop in place and re-calibrate after, to sort through all of the information, and then try to reconcile seeing an advanced form of digital technology. INTERESTING.]

You were sabotaged?
uploader: (Sensations that you thought was dead)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-05 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ hehe.

anyway, not hehe about this memory. ]

There were a lot of things happening because humanity feared UIs and what they were able to do. That was the case even when the first UIs were created. They viewed them as a threat. So much that a virus was created to hunt down every UI and destroy them. UIs, obviously, did not appreciate being treated as if they weren't alive. So they retaliated.

... I didn't know the attack would happen when I went in for negotiations that day.
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-05 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
You didn't, but it seemed... as if your negotiation was taken into account.

[Hmm. He has things to ponder! Also they truly are the dog looking in the mirror at each other, damn.]

Similar strife was going on between Piltover and Zaun; it had been for quite some time in the past. I understand.

[Anyway, shut up, Caspian's turn. He can witness the situationship divorce and the functionality of the hex aftermath thanks to a reflective gleam.]

[ a wry smile. ]

Perhaps it helps that the chancellor and I are partners. [ it was not a lie that her position made the whole thing kind of compromised. ] That, and I was the one to perfect the technology.

[ but he is watching this, frowning a little as it goes. ]

Piltover and Zaun were in conflict for a while, weren't they? But Jayce still... [ chose an easy route until the work was completed. until he could come back, finish something, and use it for other means. hm. ] ... when you heal them, the Hexcore marks them. There really is no turning back.
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-05 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
[Surprisingly, he is rather emotive about the first half of this tacked together memory.

Partners... Perfecting Jayce's dream.

The revelation is quickly consumed by the muted neutrality.]

Yes.

[He doesn't clarify if he is answering the first question or finishing Caspian's sentence.]

Their servility to the single collective is a small price they are later willing to pay to be cured of whatever plagues them.

After Huck, the most important thing became their consent. Until I realized when Jayce killed me... consent gave them the choice to turn away from reason.
uploader: (The awful names that they stick)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-05 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
[ yeah, he catches that. and he has thoughts, but he's feeling viktor out for now until he inevitably drags them both into the arcane to talk to viktor again. ]

I think some people would still see servility to one single being as a loss of free will, even if consented. Did they all understand what it would mean? Or were the people of the Undercity desperate enough it didn't matter as long as it was fixed? [ as long as they were fixed. ]
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-05 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Both perhaps.

[Viktor is as kind as he can be considering (gestures), but Zaunites are desperate, too.]

They would come, and I would listen. I would explain how it would go if they were understanding, or at least to whoever may have brought them. They could accept, or they were free to leave.

If needed, I could look inside their minds without any conversion. To check.

Many accepted. Life otherwise was almost unlivable, as you saw.
uploader: (Baby I'm a wreck)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-05 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he is really grasping the concept that viktor had the right idea and just poor execution because all of this makes sense. it makes sense to tell people and when you're desperate, of course you'll do anything and say anything to make your pain and suffering stop.

so he's quiet again. ]

All it needed was a stable core. And when that core is destroyed... [ hm. ] So the answer is finding a way to replace you as the center holding it together.
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-05 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[🫠]

I did not mention something to you before.

[Which sounds like an asshole move, but he did not know any of them well at the time, much less Caspian. No one wants to admit something like this either really... but with memories on the rise!]

My abilities... were waning. The more I used them, the dimmer my reserves became. I can't say what would have occurred if that had happened.
uploader: (Thrust through the great unknown)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-06 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
[ he doesn't look offended that viktor didn't tell him this, because yeah. there are quite a few things he's not telling viktor either, so. understandable. ]

... you would have deteriorated on your own, probably. [ like the original UIs who were created with the flaw. ] When did that start?
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-06 04:01 am (UTC)(link)
[They're so funny. AND STUPID.]

With Huck. Restoring his form took a very short toll on my energy. It is perhaps why it took so many tries later to reach and begin to restore Vander. Every person I cured, the strength of the arcane would reduce. No...

My body... simply was too human to remain a stable conduit for the scope of its power. It was my body failing again.
uploader: (They think we're only just a pawn)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-06 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
[ sometimes you're same brain and that brain is big and bad. ]

So there must have been something in Huck himself that shortcircuited you. Or, maybe, something that blocks the arcane itself and pushes back against it, creating cracks in its structure.

It goes right back to maybe the answer was creating a different structure that wasn't a human body. Sometimes... there are some things even the strongest human body can't withstand.
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-06 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The Hexcore needed to be perfected. Jayce had been desperate, and he had looked through all of my notes, but...

[He glances at a hand, curling and uncurling it.]

My body needs to evolve more... It has to become less human to channel the current of the arcane... Perhaps... machinery is the best viable option... We were already halfway there.
uploader: (Just not too close too close)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-06 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he's not sure how to feel about that, given his own body isn't human anymore.

and in some cases, he's not sure if he would even say that it was to begin with. ]

But even machinery needs maintenance over time. What would you do then?
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-07 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Actually,

he sort of laughs. He can't really laugh, laugh, but it's a sort of airy huff.]

I was an inventor. I created many mechanical things besides Hextech long before being able to wield the arcane. I think I would be able to maintain myself fairly well.
uploader: ('Cause you don't see with your eye)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-07 08:27 am (UTC)(link)
That explains a lot. [ reasonably he could have assumed as much, given the creation of hextech, but it's one thing to build machines and another to work on yourself. ]

... I'm not the machines person. Not that way. That's Maddie. But if you think that's a solution, there are probably ways to help you.

[ to develop a plan here. ]
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-08 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[He would do it. The last time he "worked on himself" it did not go well, but ignore that.]

I should like to meet Maddie then.

[They can talk about mechanics, and maybe he won't think so much about world domination.]

I'm not sure if it matters much here anymore.
uploader: (Nah I couldn't be there)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-08 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
[ we cannot ignore that? ]

She'd be interested in you. Not sure she'd agree with what you're planning, but she'd be interested.

[ if only because maddie likes to study this kind of thing, he thinks. ]

If that doesn't matter, then what do you think does?
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-08 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm accustomed to so many of you being humanitarians now.

[Warning him away from being unhinged....]

I haven't found the answer to that yet.

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-08 04:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty sure that's not a bad thing... [ viktor, please. ]

... we have a few weeks. Maybe not the worst idea to think about it and see what sticks out.
hextech: (Default)

[personal profile] hextech 2025-03-08 04:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I will hopefully have an answer by the time the weeks have ended.
