[ noooo she wants to listen to him talk about maddie all day, but she is fair(?) enough to answer a question directed at her when she basically ran him through 20 questions. ]

Because Elysia is Elysia, and just like how Gamaliel brought you back, I was also brought back by all my friends.

If I didn't have confidence in that, it'd be a great disservice to them.

[ she can ask him another 20 questions after she answers his 20 because he lifts both eyebrows in surprise and actually looks at her instead of watching where he's walking. ]

Brought back... how? [ he is polite enough not to go "what are you" but the question very much is "what are you?" which is rich, considering he's not exactly human anymore either. ] What happened?

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-15 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know how similar it is to your situation, but I'm a simulation. In a way, a copy, even if I'd say I'm still as much as Elysia as the one who existed outside where I'm from. Through a combination of technology and psychic abilities, a realm made from memories was created, so anyone who could could endure uploading all their memories could create a simulation of themself to live in that realm.

[ she isn't the tech or science savvy person of her group nor is she even the psychic ability user of her group, but she tries her best with explanations. ]

We shouldn't be able to deleted from the Elysian Realm, but I was by an unexpected and unwanted visitor, and my friends had to get creative and brought me back.

[ she says casually, even if it really wasn't a casual event. ]
uploader: (So tell me what you're waiting for)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-15 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[ hm... ]

A little similar. UIs and CIs are simulations, in a way. Digital uploads of the original minds and then creations made from two UIs. The difference is most UIs aren't copies. They're the same person.

[ does not explain why he says most. ]

So those memories created a cloud for other simulations to upload themselves to and live there. [ this is how he makes sense of it. hilariously similar. ] I feel like you're very calm about the fact you were deleted to begin with, Elysia. Did something come after you to erase you, too?
florescences: (50)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-15 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[ most can be a later topic, but she listens and nods. it makes sense to her. same but different. ]

Doesn't it become dangerous that way? If someone could come after you digitally?

[ what kind of failsafes do you have in pantheon ]

Someone who can corrupt. She could corrupt the data and the realm, but it's not something she could do all at once. She came after me because the engineer who made the technology gave me a privilege no one else had. I can delete the entire realm, if it became necessary.
uploader: (Take it as it comes and goes)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-16 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. But it's dangerous being alive, too. [ ... ] When the first UIs were discovered, shit went down and people got scared. An antiviral was created to seek them out and eliminate them. Years later, even when more and more people accepted uploading as a way of life, there were still embodied humans who didn't. If you destroy the digital copy, or where the copy is stored, without a back-up, that's it.

[ ...hello? ]

Sounds pretty powerful. And you get to be the one to pick when you delete the realm? [ thinking... ] Was deleting the realm the only way to stop her then?
florescences: (117)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-16 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
That's a fair point. It's dangerous in all forms of existence. That it becomes a new way of life for your world.... it must have offered a lot of benefits. It's a bit different for me. More limited in how many people could've become sims like me.

[ ah. this is where she looks a little sheepish. the emotionshare is the same, but she nods. ]

She's already propagated herself into the realm's system, so in order to keep her from escaping to the real world and corrupting other people and machines, that's the best solution, but...

She deleted me a second time before I could finish it.

It only progressed and became a little more common after I died.

[ so you know. but hm. he's in this picture and doesn't like it, exactly. ]

And that's how you ended up here, I'm guessing. That's the thing you have to get back to in order to stop her?
florescences: (105)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-16 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
A posthumous kind of growth?

[ like how some books only become famous only after an author died. ]

Bingo on both counts. That's why I have to have that confidence.

[ she has it naturally, but there's more meaning to it now. ]
uploader: (It's coming on)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I fixed the flaw. That meant it was safer for people to upload. [ so yes, like that.

anyway he hates that. ]

It's a bigger goal than what some people have, I'll give you that. [ better, maybe, but he knows better than to outright say that. ] One of those things where you have that confidence to keep going because if you even think about stopping it'll be hard to start again?
florescences: (57)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-16 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Hehe, that's why I have faith you'll fix our connection soon.

[ she wouldn't judge him if he said better. his opinions are his, and she likes learning about what people think, however controversial the thoughts may be. ]

I wouldn't put anyone in my position. [ not because she doesn't think anyone couldn't do what she's done or will do but because she wouldn't want anyone to have bear any of the weights given to her. ] I don't know if there's much that would make me think about stopping, but even if that happened, I know I would finish it. There's no way I could let the Flame-Chasers have such a sad ending. It has to be something worthy of them. There's no way I could let the memories of all my friends go to waste like that.

No, I get it. [ probably a little more than he wants to admit. ] Guess it's a good thing then that this isn't the last stop for you. Once your soul heals, and once I get the transportation gate fixed again, we're heading back to that side and then it's between you and God. But I think they would probably agree something like that is a change for the better of your world.

Will we all be granted some kind of audience with them at the end?
uploader: (You are everything I want)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-17 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
That's the whole point of judgment day. As long as you're back over on that side, you have time to meet with them. And that's why I'm working to beat the deadline.

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-17 06:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I appreciate you, Kiraman. Let me or anyone else know if there's anything we can do to make things easier for you, okay? We'll come running.
uploader: (Take it as it comes and goes)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-17 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Keep your phone on you and watch for messages mostly. It's easier to send a text that try to teleport everywhere finding all of you. And now that we can read their Chipper we can put more pieces together. Or... that's the plan.

[ a pause. ]

Charlie, Jing Yuan and Zhongli could probably use some help wrangling the more annoying ones though.
florescences: (19)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-17 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd be a little funny if we still couldn't see their Chipper posts when that's where they try to keep us in the loop, but that's a sign of our connection getting stronger, right? I'm going to have to convince Adolphe to keep his phone with him more.

[ she doesn't know anyone else who doesn't have their phone on them most of the time. ]

I don't mind people acting out as long as it doesn't harm too many people, but I'll step in if someone's about to die. [ a beat. ] Die again.
uploader: ('Cause you are everything I'm not)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-17 09:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. I've been working on navigating their system and finding backdoors for months, and I finally found the right channel. I didn't think it'd go on that specific day, but... it's fine. It worked. If anybody on this side can get Adolphe to listen I don't doubt it'll be you.

I get that dying again is likely traumatic, but we can't lose focus on getting back. You're still under trial by God, but I'm not here to convince people anymore. If they want to live in the moment and act out and not go back, okay. I just have to make sure they get out of here. [ he says this, but he will still try anyway because he's useless this way. ] I appreciate the help. You're probably better at it.

[ he is not exactly a people person. ]

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-17 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for all your hard work, Kiraman. Seeing the results of your work gives all of us hope. I'll do my best so we can at least all stay connected on this side.

[ smash cut to claude getting killed and ignoring her for the rest of the game. ]

Don't sell yourself so short. Viktor said I was like you, in a way, when we first met, so doesn't that mean what you're trying is working? You really are a good guardian angel. Brimstone isn't as bad as he could be, and he's starting to acknowledge what he's trying to hide. [ sort of. a little. it's better than nothing. ]
uploader: (You are everything I want)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-18 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
[ stop, elysia was right. ]

It's about all I can ask for. [ that draws out a blip of curiosity though. ] ... really? Viktor's kind of an interesting case.

[ he. wants to ask what the hell viktor said, but he will leave it alone. ]

Lailah and Mary probably had other reasons for accepting this job, but I knew when I said yes that I probably had some experience that would help heal people. It's not the exact same, but close enough. [ so maybe that's why he does an okay job. ] ... you think there's still some hope for him?
florescences: (105)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-19 02:57 am (UTC)(link)
It's because I said we could help him while also helping ourselves. I don't know why he thought it was a difficult concept.

[ she will supply the answer without being asked. ]

Yeah? What kind of reasons did you have for accepting this job? Besides how you like to help people. [ she nods. ] If I have to be really honest, eight weeks might be cutting it close to him, but... I think there's a glimmer there. I think he was taking steps forward before Firefly got him, and that just set him back to where he was before.
uploader: (Thrust through the great unknown)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-19 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
Because he's an idiot. [ says another idiot. ] We've had a whole conversation about this multiple times. Part of him probably thinks he's beyond help, even if that's not true.

[ never mind elysia's great, thanks for filling in the gaps. ]

For one thing, a couple of months really does mean next to nothing now. And I... figured if something did go wrong, I'd be able to fix it. Knowing how to find problems, fix them, and negotiations are kind of all things I'd done before, and they're good skills for crisis situations. [ he listens to her assessment of brimstone before he hums to himself. ]

A glimmer is something. It'll be up to God, but if he can get back to the place he was before the setback it might help him.
florescences: (57)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-19 05:49 am (UTC)(link)
You're all stubborn in your own way. [ this is how she calls people idiots. ] He wouldn't be here if he were beyond help.

You really jump into trying to solve problems, huh? It's not a bad thing, but do you ever think you don't have to solve every problem that comes your way?

[ she can guess the answer to that question, but she still has to ask it. ]

I think Charlie is working her magic on him, and I had a small talk with him, but I don't know how much I got through to him.
uploader: (They think we're only just a pawn)

[personal profile] uploader 2025-03-19 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[ he raises an eyebrow. don't call him stubborn? (he is so stubborn.) ]

You were all sort of collected randomly, but you did have to get to heaven somehow. Maybe you have a point. [ anyway he also gives her a blank stare because no? if there's a problem, he will fix it. he was, quite literally, born for solving problems other people can't, and sometimes finding that out in your young adult life really fucks up your psyche to the point you just decide there's no other purpose but to fix everything and spite the people who said you couldn't.

but he does not say that. he is ignoring it and moving on. ]

I have time. [ okay, maybe there is a little answer to that. ] If you walked away unscathed I'd say that you probably got through to him a little bit. My experience has been if he doesn't want to hear it or doesn't agree he freaks out.
florescences: (19)

[personal profile] florescences 2025-03-19 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Every now and then, my points are quite good.

[ she's teasing and can't read bracket text, but buddy.... caspian, please help yourself. i'm begging.

she nods. ]

You do have time. He did freak out, but he didn't try to attack me. That's a step up, I think. He might not ever be able to let go of his anger, but... at least he can redirect it a little.
