batterypack: (And gaze at my shoes)

week 6, wednesday

[ hello, she's hanging out in the academy in equestria, sort of sitting in a classroom browsing through a book. ]

I'll admit, I wasn't sure how this would work. But I left the specifics up to the other three.

[ he's gonna peek at her book. ]

It's a little surprising it was that simple, but I'm glad. That's just part of it, though, right?
batterypack: (Better find another superstition)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
[ yes... charts. and the other things you did outside. but yeah, she's reading about plant magic, predictably. ]

It helped that all of you were working in different parts, not to mention the work of the other side and the clearances already made. But you're right. That's just a part of it. At least we have an answer now of how the entity's likely been getting in.

[ ma'am why aren't you just a demiflora yourself. ]

Through Mary opening the door for it? I still don't get how that whole thing works...

[ he's just a little guy this is all beyond him. ]

What - What's going to happen to her now that she's been caught?
batterypack: (Take note it's not impressive)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
[ i feel like being half-tree should count. ]

Whatever the "door" is. An entry point? From what I can understand, because she was already on the other side and in heaven, it made it easier for her to sneak the Entity in whenever it wanted to be let in.

I imagine it's going to be up to God. We'd like to ask her more questions and see what other information we might learn about this threat, but she won't be returning to the other side anytime soon.

[ she is one in my heart. ]

Do we still not know what this "entity" even is?

[ all this makes sense, though. questioning is the obvious thing to do, and maybe they'll have more luck than he will. ]

...If she's not going back to the other side or anything, does that mean that everyone will be safe tomorrow night?

[ he's a little scared to hope, but. he can't really help it. ]
batterypack: (And from it she fled)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 04:19 am (UTC)(link)
She might tell someone else. We're likely going to go question her ourselves later.

[ but...she frowns softly with that. ]

... I hope so. But considering some people have killed of their own volition without the influence...

[ nothing is guaranteed, she thinks. she'd rather be realistic than optimistic, even if she wants to hope badly it's true. ]

I'm no good at interrogating people... Good luck, when you do. Between all of us, someone has to find the answers, rights?

[ in theory. but yeah. that's kind of what he was worried about. ]

...So we should still be prepared for the worst, just in case. [ god. this sucks. ] It'd be nice if we could finally get a break, though. Just... see everyone from the other side again already.
batterypack: (With every bubble)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
I truly hope so, I'm getting tired of this. [ she's just mad because the whole thing is bullshit. bullshit!! ] Hopefully everyone talks to each other enough, at least. See if there's anything to glean from her conversations.

... I'm sorry, Laurence. But I would. [ it really, deeply sucks. ] I was hoping for a break, too, but with these wildcards, we won't really know until Friday morning. Not to mention we don't know when Mary's been letting this Entity in. We only know she won't be able to act any further.

Everyone from the other side should be back soon though. We did a lot of work today to help with their bridge. I imagine they did the same.

[ shakes his head. ]

No, it's... We all know to expect it, by now. But we'll hope for the best, anyway. This is already good news, right? Better than nothing.

[ he smiles. it doesn't quite reach his eyes, but he's trying. ]

I hope you're right. [ absently playing with the yellow ribbon on his wrist. ] Writing letters is something, but it's not the same as seeing them again.
batterypack: (She hid around corners)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[ carefully and gently pats his hand. she knows, buddy. ]

Better than nothing. Sometimes it really is all we have. [ she eyes the ribbon, watching for a few moments. ] I said the same thing myself to Lucas when I saw him Saturday. It's much more difficult to see what a person's thinking or feeling in words than face to face. Even Noah was around and person-shaped often enough to read his expressions.

[personal profile] outdistanced 2025-03-27 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it really is. Letters don't really do them justice, I think.

...Who's Noah? A friend of yours?
batterypack: (Don't do love)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-27 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I still value all of the ones I get, but... it's a reminder, not a replacement. [ but she nods. ] Yeah. I believe so, anyway, based on some of the things I've started to remember.
outdistanced: (126)

[personal profile] outdistanced 2025-03-28 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Well, so do I, but still.

[ they can both agree there. ]

...What do you mean? Have you had amnesia this whole time and never said?
batterypack: (It has no appeal)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-28 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
No, not the way you're thinking. I didn't realize it until I came here and—[ she pauses a little, fumbling a little. yves. it was always yves. ] I started to realize there were memories of a person I'd forgotten. It only made more sense when that house of mirrors showed up and I could see more of what I'd forgotten about Noah.
outdistanced: (175)

[personal profile] outdistanced 2025-03-29 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[ it's always yves. ]

That was a lot... [ all those memories out on display. he hated i, actually. ] Do you know why you'd have forgotten him? What do you remember?
batterypack: (And let your dirty sadness fill me up)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-29 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
It was, but in a way I think it helped reframe some things for me. [ ... ] I remember everything, just without him in those memories. And I think we've all forgotten because of the sacrifice we asked Cabeswater to make. I don't... think we realized what it would mean for Noah.
outdistanced: (126)

[personal profile] outdistanced 2025-03-30 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ cabeswater? ]

Sacrifice...? [ he has so many questions. ] So... you had to do something, and the price for it was forgetting this friend of yours? Is that it?

Was it for that thing you said you'd all been looking for?
batterypack: (I know exactly why I walk)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-30 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, and yes. [ he really could just ask. ]

And... yes, in a way, but only slightly. Other people had been searching for that king, too, and it created an even bigger problem for us.
