[ it is debatable what this yahoo is doing, but they seem comfortable here. a few bottles go here, a few glasses there... and when their display seems to be to their satisfaction, they turn to face zhongli. ]
Twenty-four hours a day means I gotta get used to you guys wandering in whenever. [ they don't seem bothered though. ] How can I help you?
By all means, should I be a customer of yours at any time, you need not rush to my attention. Nearly forty of us - and tipping at least to it, if the other angels are included - is quite the clientele to keep track of for one individual.
May I ask your name, first? [ curious and polite! he folds his hands on the bartop like a good peepaw. ]
I'm sure we'll be on the road to such a thing before too long, all living amongst each other as we are. Especially with quite the collection of personalities.
[ but a nod of his head. ]
And you, Gabriel. My name is Zhongli. [ just in case. ] It's fairing well so far, now that I... hope that the property destruction has stopped.
Yeah, it's... yeah. [ a little sheepish. ] Some of you really know how to make yourselves known around here. But it'll probably mellow out the longer you're here.
[ but they note that name with a nod. ]
Good to meet you. I'm gonna be honest, I'll believe it when I see it. The, uh, end of destruction. But I guess I should be thanking everybody for not totally trashing my bar.
[ the darts are still gone and some billiard balls are missing, but it's fine. ]
I should hope so, but - I won't be holding my breath. Long-lived or not, that would be a rather undignified way of dying perhaps for a second time.
[ listen. listen. everyone is doing their absolute best, but whether that best is good for the majority or not is the question. ]
Hopefully we can keep the bar from getting, ah, trashed, at least. It seems like an excellent place for everyone to gather and unwind. Especially now that we have a bartender on the clock officially.
If it makes you feel better I can name a couple of worse ways, but I'd appreciate if nobody tried to test the theory of dying again here. [ stay alive, damnit. ]
I'll hold you guys responsible if it gets too bad. But... yeah. I'm usually here even if I'm not, but that's what the self-serve is for. I don't mind mixing drinks if people come in wanting something special, but we've got stuff on tap that's easy to grab and go if I'm not behind the counter.
Oh, I could only imagine - and maybe best to keep it that way, Gabriel. [ smash cut to a stupidass death for tutorial. still trying to figure out who our traitors are. ]
A bit of omnipresence, or a connection to the bar itself, perhaps? [ it makes sense to him. ] Would we be able to make special requests for more familiar brews and bottles from you? Outside of the self-serve, I mean, though you do have an excellent array available for us to mix with I've noticed.
[ zhongli can't see their face but he can get the sense they're grinning a little. yeah. let's keep it that way. they also lift their hand and wobble it back and forth. maybe a little of column a, maybe a little of column b. it doesn't seem to matter much to them if they can do their job. ]
I can't make promises, but I can try. What are you looking for?
[ he doesn't seem to mind the grinning energy all that much. considering the people he's spent time with, gabriel is hardly the first cheeky person, and they won't be the last. maybe. we'll see how judgement day goes. ]
It's simple curiosity, as I can live without in the afterlife just fine. But osmanthus wine? [ it tastes the same as i remember ]

[ help. we will see how judgement day goes, good luck. you guys have a long eight weeks ahead. ]
Osmanthus... I don't think I've heard of that before. What's it taste like? [ but to spare you, they soon follow up with: ] Never mind, I think I can figure it out. It might take a few days, but I can try to figure something out. [ yes, you already said that? ] If you don't mind being patient, that is.
If it helps - [ just a little amused by the repetition. there is no sparing me i have a bit and i committed to it. ] A bit like stone fruit, like peaches and apricots. But while my grade in patience might not be the highest of what I scored, I'm more than happy to wait.
So. Rocks and the color orange. [ this is a joke. ] It helps though, thanks. Having a flavor profile means I can make sure it's right. Give me a few days, I'll try to have it in stock next time you swing by. Even if I'm not here.
[ he sure is. snow, you may assume the wine appears in the bar a few days after this whether he talks to gabriel or not. ]
Sure. [ they lean against the bar, elbows on the countertop to make themselves comfortable. ] It's something new and something to do. I figured I could stand to pick up some new hobbies so I taught myself and here I am. I like it a little more than I expected.
[ wine!! he'll come back to spend time with gabriel again but hooray. ]
I understand that completely. Given enough time, one finds ways to dabble in any number of hobbies. But it's good that it turned out that it was something you would enjoy. Do you have a drink you like most? Whether to prepare, or to have for yourself.
Yeah, it's been a while since I've even had the time to pick up something new. I think more than the mixing I like the company. [ getting to talk to people, they mean. ]
I've been experimenting lately, and while I love a good Old Fashioned, I've been learning how to perfect espresso martinis. But I could easily do with a Vodka Red Bull.
Yeah? If you've got time, I got time. [ they have so much time. ]
But, uh... Old Fashioned is bourbon, bitters and just a little sugar. As for Red Bull? [ reaches under the counter and pulls out a heavenly knock-off can to show him. ] It's an energy drink.
Same idea, different taste. There's different flavors and whatever but you can't beat a classic. An espresso martini's just coffee liqueur with vodka, espresso and syrup. There're some alcohols that mix pretty well with teas, too.
[ he will reach out and take the can, assessing it curiously. he's clever enough to understand what the hell he's meant to do with the pull tab, and cracks open the knockoff with interest.
did you know griffin burns voices a red bull commercial now. very funny. childe is trying to give us all wings. ]
I would like to try one of these mixes of yours, sometime. But I'll see what this "classic" is about.
Yeah, the sweetness cuts through the bitter of the vodka. But it's an acquired taste. [ they sound amused by his reaction. ] It's okay to say you don't like it.

I'm also not that picky when it comes to beers.
no subject
he nods along with the old fashioned's explanation, then - lo, an energy drink. there's a blip of confusion at the phrasing? ]
An... energy drink. Like a coffee or tea?

[ how do you enjoy energy drink, sir... ]
no subject
... it is very sweet. I can see how alcohol would offset and balance it.
