Okay, there were circumstances for why getting them to talk was important--

The point was it was a dumb idea but they didn't hate each other and they hadn't technically broken up yet.

No, you should, it was a dumb idea and I was told as much, but it was kind of the only idea I had at the time.

I don't even remember if I wanted them together so much as I wanted them to not be so... [ they hum ] Sad, I think.

I haven't... gone through that myself, but it doesn't seem like it's easy when something goes wrong in your family. But I do understand wanting to help when you see someone in trouble, especially when it's those you love.

It wasn't all selfless. I wanted things to be able to go back to the way they were, but that was never going to happen.
