batterypack: (It twists my head just a bit to think)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-22 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. We've talked about it and I can't force him not to be, but I can try to understand a little better and help. Or... could, I suppose.

[ on account of the man being dead. she does roll her eyes though. ]

He hasn't even been gone that long, be nice. [ she knows he's just like this though. ] If our contact on the other side is telling the truth, they'll be here sooner than we think. If they don't run into extra problems, that is.
obdure: (pic#17679380)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-22 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Try not to break his heart in the process.

[ Not that it would happen, but they are ribbing Claude. ]

That's good... I heard that they'll still have another chance at redemption, but is it that they go through the whole process again? Or...
batterypack: (I'd do it all again)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-22 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
As if that man's not a heartbreaker himself! [ it's so much easier to dunk on claude than be sad he's not here. ]

Oh. I guess no one really updated you, but yes. They have their chance still, but as far as I'm aware they won't have to start over. It's like a continuation. So long as they're here by the time God's ready to judge them, they'll be up for consideration with the rest of you. It's the getting them here that seems to be the trouble.
obdure: (pic#17647748)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-22 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
He does seem like the type, doesn't he.

[ not both of them dunking on claude ]

They seem to always use... The phone. I'm not very accustomed to checking, but that is good news.
batterypack: (When your last remains are few)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-22 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Seems, but who's to say if he is or isn't. I should have asked him if he ever dated, considering how nosy he was about everyone else's romantic relationships.

[ claude. ]

Oh, you definitely don't have phones from your time, do you. It took me a little while to get used to checking mine, too. [ but this makes her think. ] Have you written to any of the lost souls at all?
obdure: (pic#17647828)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-22 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I can tell you, though what you hear from me would be what he told me.

[ So... Grain of salt. Some things could be withheld. ]

Phones... Do not exist, no. [ WHEN HE TALKS TO THE OTHER TWO NPCS IT IS ALWAYS A STRUGGLE ] I have written to them, though mostly about how the week has gone and let them write about their week. I assumed they already sent important information to us and it'd be a waste of time for them to write it multiple times. I'll hear about it through grapevine.

Or... Read about it, in this case.
batterypack: (She hid around corners)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-22 06:34 am (UTC)(link)
So there's a 50/50 chance he was saying things just to say them. I know. But now I'm curious anyway.

[ she's pulling her own phone out of her pocket to check and make sure she hasn't missed messages. and also so she can take a picture of a very cute corgi. ]

They exist for me, but they're for people who can afford them usually. [ this is actually a kind thing to do, but she does not point that out. ] From what I gather they're spreading their resources, so there's nothing wrong with writing for the sake of saying hello. I think they'd like that just as much.

[ pausing...scritching a corgi's earsies. ]

Noah used to want to just be acknowledged, period. So I imagine they're in a similar situation now that you're separated.
obdure: (pic#17715077)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-23 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know if you've ever heard or read how nobles go about courtship. They're generally arranged, so you can only imagine how high the synergy is.

[ It's a hit or miss. Jacopo is glad in this respect that he wasn't raised as nobility. He wouldn't be able to handle going on so many dates with strangers.

Stop. It is a reprieve from it all, but thank you for not pointing it out. He stays distracted by a corgi.
]

It's important to rest. [ Said someone who didn't. ] ... What eventually happened to Noah?
batterypack: (And from it she fled)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-23 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh. Arranged marriages, right. Those still exist in some places in the world depending on the culture, but I could never do that, I think. If I'm going to marry it better be to someone I know I can love and trust.

[ corgis are a good thing to be distracted by. ]

... he became a part of a sacrifice, I think, but we didn't realize it at the time. And now I'm still here trying to piece together old memories of him.
obdure: (pic#17647850)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-23 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
More like... Playdates, but I see arranged marriages seem to be universal elsewhere.

[ Jacopo wouldn't normally be for profit-marriage, but being lord means you have to be open to that. Still, he thinks people should marry for love.

It's fine. THIS HOWEVER IS NOT FINE.
]

That's... I'm sorry.
batterypack: (I'll fall apart)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-23 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Those times you bring children together so they can become acquainted and hope that maybe they'll work it out on their own. [ she sees, she sees. she would rather talk about this than noah being gone, but that is a pipe dream. ]

... I'm grateful for being here if only to help me realize I'd forgotten, and being able to regain some memories of him. But I am a little worried all of it will slip away again when I go home. Especially knowing he really did disappear.
obdure: (pic#17715077)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-24 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes. Maybe that can be brought back here. It might be entertaining.

[ The low interest in distraction, but you know what he's trying. ]

You're not allowed to take back any documentation?
batterypack: (We put your curse in reverse)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-24 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
I think some of you really could benefit from playdates, actually. Maybe that will be the next bonding thing.

[ ... that's a good question, and she frowns a little. ]

I hadn't thought about it, really. It's more trying to figure out the best way to convince the others that this is what happened. I don't think they'll even have realized I'm gone if things work the way I understand them to.
obdure: (pic#17647812)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-24 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Consider it. You three could scheme a bit and set something up for two people.

[ BLIND DATES ARE SO FUNNY, though only mildly amusing to him. ]

... That is a problem. [ Hm. ] Did you end up asking god about this?
batterypack: (It twists my head just a bit to think)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-25 02:02 am (UTC)(link)
[ there's a laugh to that. ]

Only if we were sure they wouldn't storm out right away. Where would be the fun to that? But maybe. It's worth the consideration.

[ but yes. it is a problem. she shakes her head, holding a corgi by the underarms and letting it wiggle. ]

I haven't, no. They have a lot on their plate right now that it feels inconsequential.
obdure: (pic#17679380)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-25 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sure if you said it would make you three happy if they gave it a try, they would stay.

[ Because who could say no to three GREMLINS is the tone. He would, but that isn't the point. ]

Then you're left to handle this on your own. [ Which is kind of normal, really. When has God done anything for him? ] Are you bound back immediately after this project? Maybe if you could use more time before you leave... You can find a solution.
batterypack: (She sank with a drink)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-25 06:55 am (UTC)(link)
You think so? [ she is less confident in her gremlin ability, but it is possible. they do appear to be three teenage girls. perhaps people would, in fact, listen. ]

For now I suppose. I'm not upset about it though. [ she shakes her head though. ] I think our deal with God says we have a little leeway for when the project's over. I'm sure if I asked I could stay for a little while longer. Maybe go back to that house of mirrors to see what else I can pull out from my memories.
obdure: (pic#17647845)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-25 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
I do. The people like you three.

[ It's the energy of being a teen girl. ]

That sounds like a good step forward to your current goal, then... Though the thought of suffering the mirrors' effects again is dreadful.

[ WOULD NOT APPROVE ]
batterypack: (It has no appeal)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-25 07:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's... nice. That they do. There are so many of you we like, too.

[ mutual fondness... ]

I'm not afraid of my memories, so maybe it isn't so dreadful to me. I just want to understand them, and find them. What better way than to search a place they can't hide?
obdure: (pic#17679378)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-25 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Not all of us? That isn't very angelic of you.

[ A small tease. ]

... I suppose it is also different if you go by yourself to witness them. [ Even his happy memories, he just would rather not have them be seen by people without his permission. ] It is... Odd that some memories show that people can't remember, or it never happened to them.

[ but. like. he only has one insane example. ]
batterypack: (Don't you know that the kids aren't al-)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-26 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, some of you still hardly ever talk to us. You can't fault me for that. [ she is being Nice but she also knows he's teasing, so she's not too fussed. ]

That's sort of what I thought as well. If the only person who can see them is me, then I will know what to expect if other people are around. [ she hums a little though. ] Are you sure they're memories that really never happened?
obdure: (pic#17647746)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-26 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
Again, if you want to talk about your findings or your process of recollection, I have not much to do. Except redeem, I suppose. And read people's findings on morse code and doors.

[ However well or poorly he does that. I mean the redeem part, but also reading comprehension. ]

... Well... I was told by the person that they don't remember it.

[ SO. LIKE. HOW DO YOU ARGUE? ]
batterypack: (She hid around corners)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-26 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I find you to be relatively intelligent at least. But I also like talking to you just as a friend. [ so she will share whatever. ] I guess... I am curious what your thoughts are on our little morse situation, actually.

[ also she frowns. ]

I suppose I can't argue that too much considering how little I remember of some things. I guess I never thought of it as "not happening" though.
obdure: (pic#17647734)

[personal profile] obdure 2025-03-26 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
... The codes are a bit beyond me at first. [ He is the middle ages. ] So the cipher for it was helpful.

[ People are so nice... Yet he wishes they would have in-person meetings. ]

Maybe it was... A special case, then.
batterypack: (And gaze at my shoes)

[personal profile] batterypack 2025-03-26 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
I know a little of it, but having a key wasn't a bad idea. Especially since I think some of you were translating them incorrectly to begin with.

[ a low hum of uncertainty. ]

Special case or not, now I feel like I should be more concerned than I was.
