Well, it's not exactly a power everyone is used to seeing. Mages from Thedas can't teleport.

[ they can step through the Fade, for a short distance, but there's no such thing as dnd style straight up teleporting.

It's one of the three rules of magic. [ though. the other two are also already broken. so. ] You cannot enter the Fade physically, you cannot return the dead to true life, and you cannot travel long distances through the use of magic.

I'd assume the teleportation thing. It's the most convenient one.
