I wouldn't say that it's a blanket ban on violence, necessarily...? But you might need a better reason than what you've given.

Well, self-defense, for example.

There will always be power imbalances. And in those situations, expecting peace from both sides isn't realistic. If one side is violent, continuing to tell the other side that they can't be would be unrealistic, and all it would do is perpetuate the current system.

On a more lighter note, there are people who enjoy fighting. If they both want to fight each other for fun or for practice or out of rivalry, what harm does that cause? And if it causes no harm to others, why would it be condemned?

Well, at least it's not completely out of the question. What are the chances we'll get a better set-up for fighting each other for fun? You know if you gave some of these assholes an outlet, they might chill.
