Man, not you, too. I'd ask if you're okay but you'd probably just say yes anyway, and you just said Taair looked you over so... [ but still. ] Where did you go...?
Sorry. [ they sound mildly worried because, like, head games are bad. but they also seem unhappy hearing that, too. ]
And the one before I heard might've been Jiaoqiu's. What is going on that this is even possible? I can't even figure out the pattern in the kind of people who disappear on these things.
I'm really hating that all of the terrible things about the week are on some stupid looping cycle. It's always Monday that shit gets weird out there, it's always Thursday night someone dies, and now it's always Thursday in general groups of you disappear to who knows where to face who knows what.
they open the door to go outside-- which leads inside again?? fuck. she swears in sarkaz, but the mirrors do their thing quickly enough. it's this first, start at 'can you put a price on the life of a merc', skip the bit with just hoederer, and then go here.]
[ meanwhile, the mirrors show a lot of things that gabriel is and isn't surprised about. and for a moment they remain still, letting everything kind of collect in their thoughts as their arms fold over their chest. ]
... must've been easy driving that lesson home knowing the kid would come back. But I don't know if I'd say it was a wrong one either.
[ "Is it a nature or nurture thing? Where they're born, how they're born? What kind of baggage they're weighed down with? Nah, none of that matters. It's the whole, complete, sum total of the influences on his life, all those changing thoughts and beliefs."
Yeah. You can have all the friends in the world but at the end of the day the only person you can really rely on is yourself. You can have people you trust and people you love, but you have to be prepared to make snap decisions to save them and yourselves. Whether they agree with those decisions or not.
Sometimes being nice is a detriment. Not that I don't think people should be nice, but I mean... the world's not always nice. There's still a line between being nice and smothering someone. You don't want to shield them too badly that they aren't aware of what the rest of the world might do to them if they aren't careful.

[ honestly, yeah, she has rights. she can have some goldfish. get blasted. ]
But guess that makes two of us.

I mean, I was gonna go later tonight when you guys weren't as likely to show up, but why not? Slow day today anyway.

[taking another small handful of fish, munching on them as she tugs at their arm.]
I was only downchecked for like, three days, and I'm still over it!

Wait, what exactly does that mean in this context? [ the door, the door, let's go through the door! ]

[it's fine she will drag anyone despite their height.]

...think it had something to do with Shadowheart, though, after I talked with her about it.

Nobody was going to be coming to help, or to hold their hands... so if they didn't figure out how to survive, they'd just be dead.
They might still have been dead, honestly.

Don't worry, I know I didn't. I keep getting told I could've been nicer about that one, buuut... "nice" doesn't always help.
