It looks a little similar, I guess? Lights, decorations, presents, all that stuff. If you're into that kind of thing, anyway.

[she looks down at the ends of the scarf. what is this for. what.]

I'm into that kind of thing. Should I take it to mean it's all a bit too cheery for you?

[ they look at her for a moment before looping the ends over the opposite shoulders so she's wearing it loosely but properly. ]

Winters are usually cold.

And I'm adjusting! It's colder than it's supposed to be.

I wouldn't say it's too cheery, just that I never bothered much with it?

Well yes? That's winter for you. Unless you're used to a much warmer climate, which given what you've said that's possible.

It isn't for everyone. I know people who don't celebrate it where I'm from either. Not everyone believes in the religious lore associated with, but some people like the spirit of giving gifts and spending time with people.

Not a lot of point in that if you don't have anybody to give shit to!

Or much of an opportunity for it when you're working battlefields. Just never got in the habit.

That's where we differ, I think. We never really made a big deal of it at my house, but there were usually presents. The phones still rang a lot during the day though, so people were working the lines on and off.

[ there's a pause. ]

Have you checked under the tree yet?

[sarkazm]

Your house? So it was like, a family thing with you guys.

[makes sense, that's probably why she wouldn't get it.]

Yeah. [ but that's all they say about their old life before they take their cocoa and turn to head for the tree, gesturing for her to follow. ]

Come on, trust me.

[following after them! off to the tree.

she probably knows about presents going under them but why would she be looking at them herself.]

[ that's a start and better than half the game. so when they arrived at the tree they just sort of drop straight down to the ground and begin sifting through presents before they find a small one and wiggling it at her. ]

Look what I found. [ a present? for her? gasp. ]

Huh--?

[she takes it from them, squinting down at the present...]

Oh, you snuck it in just now, huh? Cute.

You think I had time to do that? Of course not, this is just Christmas magic. [ they are obviously kidding, but they also pull out a small box for themselves. ] Why else would there be one for me, too?
