If the goal is to prove that anyone can be redeemed and deserves a grace period to try... then selecting only the candidates you know will succeed negates any meaning drawn from the results.

We've been open about the fact that everyone's journey will look different, and that they should spend their time reflecting on who they want to be for themselves. What they think it takes to be a good person, and if they're already there, or willing to try.
So it isn't telling you that you aren't good enough, exactly. Especially when so much of a person's identity is guided by their surroundings in life.

We discussed this last time, a little bit. If you're born into a war, participating in that war has more justification than, say, those who began a war themselves. The things that you have to do by necessity to survive, or to achieve a greater good, can't be judged on the same scale as the actions of someone born into peace who chooses violence.
It's the duty of all living things to protect the lives of others.

... I'm not saying that every subjective angle holds the same weight, morally. Just that there should be consideration given to a person's situation, and what they had to do to survive. What the bigger picture was.
