I guess it works in their favor sometimes... but it's too widespread for them to be confident they'll never get it either.

[in part because-]

Originium causes it-- and also fuels most of our tech, so good luck getting rid of it! They can't put that one back. Can't undo figuring out that it powers and amps up Arts either.

It's definitely not that easy. Just trying to figure out how it works at all is apparently a lot.

[but she doesn't care about science.]

One of those situations where we've been damned if we do and damned if we don't, you know? Catastrophes would've wiped our cities out if they didn't use Originium tech to build moving ones, so... either get destroyed by storms full of it, or get killed slower by exposure.

Pretty much! And by my lifetime, we were already deep into that.

[she's never known anything else, she's more than young enough for that.]

I wouldn't say it was. Somebody- [thunking a fist on the cannon] decided to fire an airship's cannons at a furnace full of pissed-off revenants! Bad luck for me, that's all.

[she exhales a huff.]

Better than wasting away and turning to Originium dust, but as deaths go? Not my favorite. I'd rather have blown myself up on purpose.

I assume so! At least, one second I was by the furnace, arguing with that dusty old Lich... and then the next, the cannons were going off, then I woke up here.
