Originium causes it-- and also fuels most of our tech, so good luck getting rid of it! They can't put that one back. Can't undo figuring out that it powers and amps up Arts either.
If they know what causes it, isolating the fuel in a way that makes it safe shouldn't be so hard. We had plenty of materials like that back home. [ they shake their head ] Once a technology starts, it doesn't get shelved unless something better comes along. No matter the cost.
It's definitely not that easy. Just trying to figure out how it works at all is apparently a lot.

One of those situations where we've been damned if we do and damned if we don't, you know? Catastrophes would've wiped our cities out if they didn't use Originium tech to build moving ones, so... either get destroyed by storms full of it, or get killed slower by exposure.

I've lived through similar. Any advancement like that--it's the end of the world as you know it. You don't even know when it happens until it's already underway.
I wouldn't say it was. Somebody- [thunking a fist on the cannon] decided to fire an airship's cannons at a furnace full of pissed-off revenants! Bad luck for me, that's all.

I assume so! At least, one second I was by the furnace, arguing with that dusty old Lich... and then the next, the cannons were going off, then I woke up here.
