What're they gonna do, fire me? That'd require them to pay attention to anything I'm doing here. [ smite them, coward!!! ]
I don't have a ton of experience with snakes, but I don't think most of them are meant to be friendly. I always got the impression they just want to be left alone. Guess Eupha lucked out.
As for the snakes - truly, I think Miss Eupha could befriend any animal, so it doesn't surprise me. She's such a wonderful person to spend time around.
What if I wanted to hear more about your week instead? [ teasing. ] After the weekend it feels almost uneventful. Not that I'm going to complain about it. I don't mind a slower start.
Then, we will simply have to go around and around in the strange human ritual called a conversation.
[ teasing back, warmly, as he gets comfy and props his chin in his hands. ]
Mm... yes, to say the least! Surely, at least your Thursday will not be so chaotic, this time...?
[ maybe ] Honestly, my dear friend, the beginning of the week is often my favorite part. I so look forward after a difficult weekend to what new places will be revealed to us. There is something to be said for the dawn of a fresh week, and the hope that comes with it.
Plus, I've made a habit of spending this time with you each week! And I quite enjoy our little talks.
Even if it is, it's not like I can do much about it. The tavern's a public place, just like the bar's always been public. Maybe some of you will get bored and go somewhere else though. There's time.
[ but they listen, hands braced on the bar in a relaxed sort of lean as they nod along. ]
The new islands are always pretty interesting to look through. The ones that were picked out for you during this trial are all pretty different from each other. I'll go back and look myself, too. But I won't disagree. I never mind when you come by. Makes my job a little less boring, and you always have something new to say. I like the breakup in the monotony.
[ the monotony of knowing people are going to die, maybe. ]

She seems nice. I've only talked to her a few times but you can just tell with some people. I bet she could too though.
