Doing something stupid while setting up for this job? [ they at least sound a little sheepish. ] You'd think I'd know better.

Sweet of you to say. I'm still getting adjusted to how this suits me, but...

I've been known to carry too much, yeah.

[ still rolling their shoulders back and trying to stretch their spine, they do turn around to grab a champagne flute. ]

Adjusted like you're still not sure? Or adjusted because it's a big difference?

I think the latter, but it's always hard to say for sure with these things.

[ah, lightly trying to touch them to stop?]

No, no, no. I'm meant to be a healer, you know. If you're injured, the least I can do is pour the drinks.

[ they do stop, but they hum a little to that. ]

It feels a little weird making you pour your own "congratulations" drink, Shadowheart. Healer or no. [ but it's very kind of her and they should maybe let people do things, so they hand her the glass. ] There's a bottle on the third shelf from the left, green with a foil topper.

I'm not much of a healer either way, other than the magic. But this, I can do.

[she will pour! and one for them, too?]

The magic is a pretty big thing, I think. [ but one of them, too. ] ... thanks. I usually want to do it myself but it's not like you aren't here often enough anyway.

[ i.e. they trust her. ]

I am and have always been popular with bartenders. I am generous with the orders and tips, and I tend to give other patrons a reason to stick around.

[handing them a flute.]

There you are.

And so modest about it, too. [ but they think it's funny, and she's allowed, so they take the flute from her and hold it out for a toast. ]

[toasting back and drinking it! imagine if she grabbed the wrong bottle and this was cursed.]

[ honestly it should be cursed but i leave that in your hands, as i never got this notif apparently. ]

I'd like if this was just the first of new beginnings for you guys, but I'll take what I can get.

[it contains deadly poison and they were both dead as of tuesday w5, time to retcon some things.]

I'll take what I can get, too. One is enough for me right now.

Does it ever feel like it's too good to be true? The victories as they come. [ "do you worry about losing those, too?" ]

...Oh, yes. [a small smile.] I never trust a good thing, really. Never.

I should be encouraging you to have a little faith, but it's not like I'm a good optimist either. Isn't that the saying? Hope for the best, expect the worst? I'm going to keep hoping for the best for all of you.

Same. I will keep hoping for the best and expecting the worst and I think in some ways both the hopes and the expectations shall be met.

Can't have the good without the bad and everything. But I can wish for a little less of the bar. Guess that's what the beginning of the week's for?
