No, I did. But I didn't go along with it for a really long time.

It was the only way to do what I needed to. [ they pause at that and shake their head ] Or, well. I probably could give a hundred reasons, but if we're being honest, I think they all boil down to grief.

...I'm sorry. I wish you hadn't had to change your mind. Unless it worked out for the better?

It did. [ they seem to believe it, at least? ] But for me it was about fixing something. I still don't think it's the kind of life I'd want to have. I'm just less likely to argue with other people about it now.

About... six or seven months? We spent most of it preparing for this.
