Before I ended up here, I wasn't even sure God was real. Let's just say I'm not sure I want to take chances.

I don't know why I'm here, actually. [ they will be honest about that. ] Could be because I asked in my last moments, or could be because God really needed a bartender and knew I'd come knocking on their door. I wouldn't call myself virtuous. I'm just... trying to be better, maybe.

That's refreshing to hear. You never want your bartender to be too good.

I am the last person to be judging anyone on what goodness is for that reason. I like to think we're all about on the same level.

Well. I suspect there's some variation. Charlie may be a devil, but I think she's possibly a literal saint, for example. And Yves... assuming he really is the way he comes across. You never know.

I'll take your word on that. Haven't spoken to either of them yet, but I won't be surprised if I don't either. [ though this makes them think. ] Got an assessment on anybody else I should hear about?

Now you're just asking for idle gossip. No one so obviously strikes me as unneeding redemption as Charlie, but there are the ones where I suspect your work will be cut out for you.

Oh, I bet. [ they do not deny it's idle gossip, but what do you expect from a being who spends all day in a bar? ] I'll probably meet most of you eventually. I'm not going out of business anytime soon.
