You could learn anyway? You could always decide to do something different than what you are supposed to do, couldn't you?

[not just talking about swimming.]

You did all of this - surely you could go somewhere else, if you had to.

Well, I'm not sure. The technology that I reside in doesn't really exist in other worlds. So.

[ she just. shrugs... she is not thinking about other options much. ]

Maybe you and Elysia ought to help one another...

[it's outside of her ability to conceptualize, though.]

I don't know much about Elysia. Is she going back to something difficult?

Well... I don't know much about technology, but I think she's in a similar situation? The world she lives in is sort of a... computer world, and it was being taken over by someone who wanted to use it to harm people outside the computer, and she wanted to go back and prevent that from happening.

So she is the same as most of you. Going home out of a sense of duty and obligation.

Well, yes. I suppose that is true for many of us.

I still think that there would be nothing wrong with making new lives for yourselves in Heaven. You struggled enough against your circumstances in life.

... But perhaps that's easier for me to say when I am still alive.

It doesn't exactly sound as though your situation is more permanent than ours, though. Maybe less so.

[frowning.]

I don't know if I'm a believer in duty and purpose. But there are people I care about and things I would always wonder about, if I left them unfinished or unexplored. You've talked of how much there is to find here, but... I won't learn what became of my parents here. I won't learn who I could have been in a more complex world.

If all goes well, I will continue to live indefinitely.

[ so it's fine! ]

You have unfinished business. Unanswered questions. I suppose that's different from duty. Either way, I don't think that it's a wrong choice to make. I don't think there are wrong choices to make, in this.

You always seemed to think we might want to consider staying here, though. Which seems to be not the point of the experiment.

I think that you should consider all of your options. And the point of the experiment is, first and foremost, to give more people the opportunity to go to Heaven when they might not have originally qualified. I wouldn't work to give you an opportunity that I didn't think was worth it, and that's why I remind everyone that Heaven can be as much of a new beginning as any other world.

The revival is... sort of a secondary option. It's clearly what many would prefer, but it's not exactly a default offering. Like a bonus offering, perhaps as compensation for being part of a trial run of the program.
