[Somehow this, after weeks of living like a pleb in heaven, is what sets off a rant.]

I make a good income working for the government! And I invest it wisely so that you and your sister never have to worry about not having food or being homeless! I worked my ass off raising my kids right! And then this shitty place fucks up one of the few good things I've ever done in my life!

[He's turning on the announcer and shooting at her now.]

And I don't care if he can't remember me or if this is some alternate version of Chance! He's still my son!

[ The bullet hits her in the shoulder and blood starts to trickle down her arm. She doesn't say anything!

Chance believes you've just shot his coworker though, and so he opens fire! You're going to need to fight back or run. Unless you've got a third option in mind. ]

[Yeah, he just lets the bullets hit them. And even as he flinches from the pain, he smiles.]

I already died twice. You can't kill me in any way that matters.

[He is only this calm about it because he already saw that getting shot isn't that big of a deal in this world.

And he just. Starts walking towards the announcer. Or shuffling, as it may be, depending on how badly he gets shot up by Chance.]

[ Ali gets shot up pretty dang good because he's doing nothing to stop it.

Each bullet feels like being punched real hard. Any that graze him cut his skin and make him bleed. The announcer just kind of sits there watching him get progressively more beat the fuck up as he approaches.

Chase does not stop shooting. Being punched over and over does, in fact, still hurt a lot, even if it's not deadly. ]

[It hurts more because of who is doing it too. :(

Ali makes it about five steps before the pain is too much and he stumbles and falls over. Ow. He's just going to lay down on the ground for now and try to get past where it hurts so much.]

[ Once Ali collapses, Chase will stop shooting. And come stand over him. ]

Just fight back.

[He does move, to push himself up and look at Chance.]

When you were little you would get scared and grab onto me, but you were always so much stronger than me. I had to brace myself to not fall, and as you got older falling was inevitable. You've always been stronger than me, and I couldn't be happier because it meant you were growing up strong.

[He refuses to fight any version of his kid. He'll just stay like this for a little while longer.]

[ Chase stares down at Ali. Maybe a little judgmentally, because again, you sound deranged to him.

But his expression flickers for a second. Like there's... some twitch of something behind the eyes.

He's still just standing, aiming his gun though. ]

[He sees that twitch, and he feels that he's going in the right direction.]

Your family here is no doubt different than in my world, but you still have someone you care about, don't you?

From my view, I haven't even been on this boat for four hours yet. But from the outside, two weeks have passed. Now how long have you been on this boat, and how long have your loved ones outside of it been waiting for you?

[ hmm. HMM. He really doesn't like this train of thought. His expression contorts up and he adjusts his aim to Ali's head. ]

What family? I like it here.

[He sees the gun, but he tries to act like he's not worried about it.]

Each day you stay here is three months. Each month is seven and a half years. Need I keep going?

[All the while, he's turning his gun slowly to point at the host. He plans on shooting her again in the next tag if he isn't smacked down for it.]

[ I won't make you roll for it, I'll just say: you had the stealth role. And Chase is disoriented by this train of thought, so he doesn't notice... ]

That's ridiculous. I would know if that much time was passing.

[Heck yes immersive gameplay.]

I didn't notice it until someone on the outside came after us because we were gone for so long on their end. I bet it would be the same for you too.

[Carefully aiming at her head...I will probably biff the roll but he's taking his time aiming.]

Trust me, you'll thank me later.

[And he shoots at the host again.]

[ He shoots the host and for whatever reason it does... more than it should. The bullet pierces her chest and she doubles over clutching at the injury, screaming in pain as blood covers her hands. Pretty fucked up!

Chase also thinks this was fucked up! He opens fire on you one last time, but you are still immune to bullets. Point blank to the head and they just bruise, and they cut, and blood starts to pour from relatively shallow abrasions on your scalp.

Before you can do much about that one way or the other, your surroundings flip like a switch again. Chase is gone. The crowd of cruise-goers is back, teenage girls bustling around to go sit in the open theater seats, though nothing is playing on the projectors. None of them pay you any mind despite the blood dripping down your face.

The only one who seems to acknowledge you is The Idol who just goes: ]

Uh. Can we go home now.

[smokeandglasses]

[Wow he is in so much pain now. How is he not dead?]

[Contemplates shooting the Idol.]

Why would I do this? I did my show, I'm ready to go home now. I'll take Yuuka's lecturing or whatever. I'll go back into the self-reflection room...

Also my son has gone missing and I need to collect him before we leave.

How about you go collect your son, and I'll wait at the... How are we getting back? You guys got a helicopter?

We have a boat. And I would like to go but I don't think I can move right now.

[He did get shot up. Twice.]
