You sound almost surprised. What's more opinionated than a teenage girl?
[ deadpan jokes aside; ]
To express myself, or to admire? They're different things. My arts of choice are the cello, taxidermy and writing. Anything else I consider an art form might be debatable.
[The only experience he has with teenage girls outside of hiveminded commune ones is probably the short instance with Jinx, and, you know what: based on that alone, this tracks.
Teenage girls are so damn rude and opinionated.]
Fair.
[He hums thoughtfully at the list.]
Those are admirable art forms.
[Even the taxidermy. He also, uh, makes use of husks of people probably. (looks away from salo and the robot later)]
What art do you enjoy which you would not say is conventional for you? Or do you not believe that is being true to yourself, enjoying something you may not participate in?
I meant, for example, that people wouldn't traditionally consider torture and its various methods an art form. To me, it's poetry. But I live outside the traditional.
[ which in and of itself is a family tradition, but she refuses to think about that, ]
It's what people who fit the regular mold of society are called back home. Keep in mind I went to school with vampires, werewolves, mermaids and their ilk.
[Mulling over "normies" in his head... He will use this word later maybe. He will call someone a normie. Maybe it will be Yves (who is not entirely a normie).]
You wouldn't have. Nevermore Academy doesn't accept people you'd call "those of Piltover". It's a school for the abnormal alone. Though its location baffles for that concept, what with the witch hunter theme park in the nearby town.
I think I would have enjoyed seeing that more. A place of prosperity for just those of Zaun. We wouldn't have had to deal with the struggle to get into the Academy, or the prejudice.
No. It was once a relatively peaceful place of trade, though polluted terribly, but it then became a dangerous one full of control, and gangs, and drugs. A tattered commodity.
You sincerely believed yourself to be able to single-handedly solve all societal problems in your city through your ... commune? And the power of the "hextech"?
[ she's being sooo nice. she didn't even say cult. ]
Yes. [Genuinely.] I believe any dream is possible with resolve. The Hextech Jayce and I created can save countless lives.
And now, the arcane I wield can do the same. The commune grew everyday. People were healing, coexisting. All I needed was to design tools to help us begin purging the Undercity of pollution.
[Ignores the fact his hex juice was running out slowly.]
If Jayce would have only looked, he could have seen the future we wanted.

The signs are accurate, at least.

it's fine ]
Is it truly wrong? Or is it just odd and uncomfortable to look at?
[ a beat, and: ]
Or is it simply stupid.
no subject
Is that not the essence of art?

[It doesn't sound like he finds this as a problem, more he is teasing her. The emotions are still fairly neutral, though, despite this.]
What kind of art do you prefer?

[Concerning.]
I can understand your reasonings, but I would not validate torture myself.
[Life tortured him enough already without having someone else do it.]
What attracts you so much to such... macabre things?

He thinks it's somewhat charming(?) if incredibly concerning. Even though he has no room to talk about being concerning.]
I see. But you take pride in this?

[ SHE'S THE ONE WHO BROUGHT IT UP ]
But the macabre and bizarre runs in my family. As much as I may fight with my parents, we're simply not built to be... normies.
no subject
...Normies?
[HELP!!! He shall enhance his vocabulary. Maybe he will call someone on the other side a normie.]
no subject
no subject
Ah. "Normals"? Shortened to normies. I understand. I suppose that would have been most of Piltover.

Did you really attend school with other races?
no subject
Yes. My roommate was a werewolf. Is that so surprising?
no subject
Not because she is, but because... I can't imagine a world where Zaunites of another race would have shared a school with those of Piltover.
It would have been something I'd have love to see.

I was hoping to change that with the commune.
