[ they are a mess but... that just means there's so much room for improvement...?!

I have. After we were hired, they went over the finer details of this job with us, to make sure we were prepared. [ for how it was supposed to go. which it clearly is not. she's fine with that though i guess. ]
Maybe it was simply time to look at things with fresh eyes.
[ anyway, ]
We all accepted the offer independently, so I can't say what the others may have been told or offered. But I find fulfilment just in knowing that I serve the Lord, and that more souls will find peace in their afterlife.
I was not aiming to judge, merely understand. [He doesn't think she was criticizing him, of course, but thought it better to explain.] I'm sure some of them will succeed.
I wonder... The goal was to remove them from the conflicts in life that may have pressured them into cruelty. If they're just put into new conflicts, it isn't really a fresh start. How could they be asked to change if their circumstances haven't?
It does make it easy to see who they are now, when they're put under pressure. But we wanted to give them the chance to be someone else.
When there is free will, there will always be surrender to influence if someone's fortitude isn't strong. It is difficult to become who you could be when you are stuck being who you are.
Is it disingenuous to judge their merit on who else they could be rather than who they are showing you?
Choosing to change for the better is still free will. It can just be... harder, when you're backed into a corner. I've seen powerful girls succumb to feeling like it's "too late" when it wasn't. And even they could be pulled back with patience.
So I don't think so, exactly. Sometimes people decide to change, but it takes more time yet for that to manifest. But the choice inside them still matters, doesn't it? The desire?
[ yeah... it's easy to be naive when your canon is about the perfect role model delivering miracles to invincible teenagers. sometimes... you are from The Good Timeline. ]
Even small accomplishments. Even accomplishments that are later undone.
I can imagine that most people feel that way when they pass away. [ did he pass away? was he killed or brought here by the arcane? both? she is so unclear, but is just defaulting to 'close enough.' ] It rarely comes with ample warning.
But you're still here. You're still young. Your journey continues.

What made them interested in... this change? The offering of a second chance.

Sometimes... you just realize that things could be improved. That it's time for a change. In yourself, or in what you surround yourself with.

[Sometimes, even badly. Wrongly? It's fine.]
And the six of you all? Were you promised something, or merely helping out of the kindness of your heart?

I hope that there will be lenience for any who struggle. Their trial is going... differently than we had planned.

Typically, that happens when people are emotionally driven.
[He does not say this disrespectfully. Just an observation.]
Do you not think the results have been sullied because of the interference? Or does this make judgement of them easier?

Habits are broken in baby steps.

On occasion, the time to wait for this to happen isn't there.
[This is why he has an F in patience.......]

You're right. I wish that we could give people longer than eight weeks before they face judgment.
Even this new system is a baby step, in its own way.

[Good luck, God, and also the people here.]

I'm sure you have some amazing stories of triumph.

I am not sure.
[There are. But there are also some not great things.]

I believe those still count.

There may be some. [He concedes.] It feels as if I should have done more.
I feel... unfinished.
