I suppose that I like smart people. I like people who care a lot and say what they think, and always do what they think is right. What about you?

I like those kinds of people, too. Those with conviction shine in a way that's all their own.

I like thoughtful people, those who try their best, those who are devoted, those who are generous, those who can't help but burn with passion— Most of all, I like those who are beautiful.

Is beauty valuable? It's just a matter of taste, isn't it?

Sure, but don't you find what you love beautiful? The people you love are beautiful to you even if they aren't beautiful to others.

I haven't put much thought into beauty before.

But doesn't that mean that you don't like those who are beautiful. Just that those you like become beautiful? Causation is going in the other direction.

Oh, you're overthinking it, Ramiel. Can't it be both? They are beautiful, and they become more beautiful.
