Oh. [ they did not expect a thank you (especially from mizu), but they settle for a nod. ] You're welcome. I had to take a few liberties since I had no idea on what might fit or what you all would like, but it seemed practical enough.
Give me hope for a lack of stupidity for a little while longer, please.
[ welcome to the dirt. ]
I think the idea is that it provides some security when you're most vulnerable, like when you're asleep, but nobody should be rifling through each others rooms to begin with. It isn't as if any of you know what's inside each one anyway. It's just the design of the mansion. Also the likelihood of you all losing keys if you had them is a little too high for comfort.
[just. stares at them after "nobody should be riffling through--", like. hm. you see.]
I think this group has proven that they don't care about what they should and shouldn't be doing. [their criminals.] Is there anything stopping us from modifying our doors?
[like jerryrigging an extra lock or a fun surprise.]
Fair enough. [ they do not see... they choose not to see. ]
It's your room, so in theory you can do whatever you want. You may want to run it past your roommate though? Before you lock them out or anything like that.
Good. [ good! we love communication. but they make a soft noise to the question. ]
Side effect of you not quite being integrated to heaven. Kind of like how your eyes are still adjusting to seeing us? It may change over time, but there are always going to be little things like that while you're settling in.
That would be God. It seems kind of dumb to bring you here for a second chance only to die from old wounds immediately, doesn't it? So all injuries were healed as much as possible and things like diseases and such should have slowed down enough not to be damaging.

unfortunately, mizu just stands there blocking the light like an asshole. glances at the crochet-thing they're working on and raises an eyebrow.]
There was a scarf in my box. Was that your work?
[no hi back? okay.]
no subject
It was, yes. You don't have to keep it if you don't want to.

anyway, shakes head.]
It was one of the more useful things in the box. [saving lives from sexy angel costume malfunctions...] Thank you.

[said like a true medieval serf who just discovered plastic for the first time but no one has taken the time to explain st*r w*rs. it's fine.
but also--]
I have questions.
no subject
[ but they gesture to the dirt if mizu would like to sit. ]
I may have answers. What sort of questions?
no subject
[wryly. absolute zero trust in these chucklefucks? but with a nod, mizu sits down on the ground seiza style.]
Our bedroom doors only lock from the inside. Is there a reason why?

[nobody's putting neve out on the streets. it's fine.]
Another question. It's impossible to stay awake while traveling through the fog. Why?

[this is such a funny mechanic, though.]
One more thing. Our injuries were seen to before we even woke up. Who do we have to thank for that?
no subject
That would be God. It seems kind of dumb to bring you here for a second chance only to die from old wounds immediately, doesn't it? So all injuries were healed as much as possible and things like diseases and such should have slowed down enough not to be damaging.
