I wonder though if it's just increasing your attachment to a world you have finite time in. When instead, you could be adapting to the place that you'll spend much longer in, in the end.

Yes. Giving up a life that already failed you once for an eternity in paradise sounds like the obvious choice, to me.

Do you truly value the idea that life is finite when you reject its ending just for being unexpected?

W- well technically speaking didn't I already have something like this...? Cupids don't age, so by normal means anyway we don't really, um, die. And we don't have to live a normal human life either...

That's what I mean.

You died. But you're working as a cupid to reject that. And then you wound up here, perhaps a different death of the soul. And you're working toward redemption in hopes not of staying in Heaven, but returning to life. Or—to being a cupid, in order to work your way back to life.

You have died, in some form or another, twice. And both times, are working to undo that truth.
