Love yourself a little more, maybe? You spend so much time loving other people and wishing for people to love you, but I still think you don't always take as good of care of yourself as you could because you always put everyone ahead.
Trust me a little. [ it is in fact because he thinks he is asking too much for the most basic forms of affection. ] And I know Gamaliel and Ramiel would agree with me.
[ also me about to fucking leave this thread before realizing i didn't give you a memory (i also owe gabe one but i just haven't written it like a lazyass)
[ HELP you just abandoning me in the mirror house. fair.

So in addition to everything else happening on your island, there's also a serial killer? And you went to confront him?
yves just nods.... and thinks about how to navigate this because he now knows who bourreau is.... ]
... yeah. I mean, he sort of attacked us first? We were at the Claude manor, which belonged to Mathis who showed up at the end... and then it's not like we could just let him go.
... there's a whole group that specifically hates Relivers? Even if becoming one might be the only option for some people? [ she has her own mixed feelings on relivers, but that feels a little intense. ]
... yeah. It's a group that believes that becoming a Reliver is like becoming a demon without a soul. That they aren't truly people.
[ which is. yikes. ]
I think it's okay if people don't want to become a Reliver, there's a lot of sacrifices with it... but... my best friend and partner is a Reliver. So it's hard for me to wrap my head around.
I think it sounds like a very personal choice. But there are still some problems with becoming a Reliver, aren't there? Usually those kinds of groups are formed just because they're scared.
[ I have to think about trc narrative saying there are still people in her town that yell racist shit at blue. people are angry for things they don't agree with, not a new concept here. ]
But to go as far as to say they aren't people... isn't the point to extend their life so they can keep being people?
It's because they don't want to die. Twenty-three years... it's really not that long, is it? Even from what I've seen here. So they'll become a Reliver, just to desperately get more time.
There are problems, but Scien's resolved a lot of them by now. Relivers can feel emotions and love again. There was the issue of the curse, but Scien solved that too, even if he went.... off the deep end, after.
Relivers... I can't see them any differently from any other person. They are also just trying to do their best after being given a difficult hand in life.
It's not at all. [ she thinks maybe she would be a little scared to die at twenty-three herself. ] Humans are meant to live so many decades and do so many things. To have life stop short at twenty-three is a little sad.
[ a lot sad, actually. ]
... the way you talk about Scien makes it sound as though he really was a savior who fixed everything at the loss of himself. [ which is... a lot to think about. ] Solving a whole curse isn't easy. I don't think it's wrong to see Relivers as real people either. Some of them were your friends once when they were still normal humans, weren't they? And people's families and everything... I guess it's just if they really are themselves still. Like that ship thought problem.
To me... as long as people are remembered to be themselves, then they are. There are some struggles that Relivers face—like they might only know the skills they learned from the previous life... but Hugo proves that wrong! He learns new things in Courrune with me every single day.
Scien... is a complicated person. He's arrogant and sometimes kind of irritating on purpose. [ he still says this with affection, unfortunately ] But we're in a debt to him. Even if I'm the one who killed him, in the end, and he killed me...
He's my friend. And I wish his life was a little easier, and I'd reached out to him sooner to save him from himself.
Is that something that can be fixed in other Relivers, you think? Or was that uniquely Hugo? [ did this man learn out of spite to be better to stay with his crush, yves yveson? ]
... your ties to Scien are also complicated. [ a fucked up kind of fate. ] Is that... something you think you'd ever go back and change? Reaching out to him sooner to try and make sure he had support and things didn't turn out the way they did.
I don't see why it'd be uniquely Hugo... I do think he's amazing, but even if it's hard, I think Reliver's can do their best to learn new things and try.
[ but he looks thoughtful at the question.... ]
... yeah. I'm... thinking about it a little bit, since Monsieur Lucas is thinking of going back. It'd take a lot of convincing, since I'm pretty sure he wants Scien dead but—I'm still going to try my best to see if I can set things on a better course.
If you think it's possible, then I would say that's an argument worth having. You have the proof, so it's just about getting people to listen.
[ hm... ]
That's a very big responsibility to take on by yourself, Yves. But if you and Lucas and Adolphe all remember this experience, maybe having someone to confirm the story and idea will help. A reminder that maybe things can still change, and it needs to be a group effort. [ even if lucas really wants this man dead. ]
