Well... His emulation corrupted beyond repair. But then Maddie was there. In the cloud. Even though she had never wanted to upload and shouldn't have had the time to do so. Her son, too.

And then she brought Caspian back, somehow. And then they both disappeared. And then our dad was there, and he was going to explain everything, and I waited very patiently for a few minutes. But then he didn't have an explanation after all.
