[ they will be there at the bar! just sitting there. they don't even have a drink in front of them. They've got a leg crossed on top of another and are on their phone as they wait. ]
[ you are all getting there before him which is rude when he is the inviter, so he makes note that he should come earlier... Propriety, decorum, old habits, etc. ]
Good afternoon. I hope I didn't keep you waiting.
[ Hand on the back of the chair or i don't know is this a stool to indicate if he may sit here. ]
Still, it would be poor of me. [ Jacopo will sit down. ] I had wanted to gauge your workload, though I don't know if you've been at this job for a while.
I like the idea of second chances. Of people getting to have a future they wouldn't get to have otherwise. [ it's said casually enough ] And it sounded like an interesting change of pace from what I'd been doing.
I think when the second chance is yours, it's easier to want to believe in it.
[ they do not think it's too weird because of the veiled interest. the second question makes them pause, head tilted as they tap the table ]
Not a scribe. It was a long term project that involved a lot of... gentle nudging and doing the same thing over and over again. It's a bit hard to explain. It took a long time before I finally completed it.
I don't understand the appeal, but maybe it's entertaining to watch since somehow we've sowed a large amount of chaos in such short time despite not needing to fight for resources.
The chaos wasn't what interested me. I've seen plenty of it. [ they think about how to phrase it ] I like the idea that people could get a chance to experience a future they never would otherwise.
Maybe I wanted to be a little optimistic. [ teasing. ] I don't know if diligence is the most important trait they'll need. I think the first step is wanting to make that change in the first place.

they put their phone away when jacopo gets there though! ]
Don't worry about that. I've got a lot of patience. [ an A in patience, even! ] So, what was it you wanted to ask?

Positive results?

[ a little sardonic. not fully reluctant? hm. ]
Yeah. I finished right on schedule, and it was the results I hoped for. That's when I was asked to help here.
