[ re: If time permits, I seek an audience at the tavern. I have some questions. ]
Alright.
I'll be waiting for you there.
[ unless he is already there they have beaten him to it, because they are a cheating cheater who cheats. they're sitting down at a table, and there's an old clunky laptop next to them. it's got some faded stickers on it! one says NERD, there's a little dog one, etc. this is just flavor text for me to be funny ]
I had anticipated there to be conflict, even violence, but I am surprised about the lack of safety measures set. Is this due to lack of preparation and foresight?
Honestly? We didn't expect violence. [ they sound both frustrated and sorry about it ] Especially not with the expulsion--he was only meant to board the train after saying any goodbyes he wanted to.
[ i'm sorry, he is just frowning at them because he was at the receiving end of violence on the first day, but right now he doesn't feel to make that karen of a comment because he can read the room right now. ]
... Then this expulsion—which honestly was more like an execution—is an anomaly?
Yes. Something went wrong, except I don't know what exactly. If the heightened emotions from both of them made something react, or if we missed something to set up the protocol correctly, or... [ waves vaguely ] Expulsion as a concept is old, but it's barely ever been used. There's not a lot of examples to pull data from.
Unfortunately, always be open to the possibility it may happen again.
[ Since he doesn't mean trialing experiments before another murder. ]
... He seemed unlike himself, even though I've only had one conversation with him. [ So he isn't too sure about this. ] But some of our number have mentioned there's a specific disease unique to his species. It's akin to madness.
[ ... ]
I wasn't sure if you three would have had insight on this.
I'm seriously hoping no one wants to go through all that again.
[ hmmm. they open up their laptop and type something, which will mean nothing to jacopo, and also he can't even see the screen from this angle anyway. tragedy. ]
Honestly, if he came in with it, it's not impossible. Bringing you here healed wounds and should've stopped the progression of any diseases, but it wouldn't have cured what was already there.
[ is it worth asking why they are warm bodied with a pulse because if it isn't i will skip it ]
Then either he was hiding it very well, it's sporadic, or this may be something else. [ Ominous. Frowning. ] Nothing we can do to prevent murder, either?
I don't know enough about that disease to say. [ as for the murder thing. they put a hand to their forehead ] Well, now I'm considering babyproofing the area, I guess? I don't think taking the knives away from everybody is a real solution though.
I'm sure it'd make those with them unhappy. [ Frowning. ] And I'm guessing I can't make a request for a sword due to all of this, or at all since the beginning.
[ dont worry we have suffered going SHIT LORE REASONS so often ]
Right. Actual weapons aren't available off of the kiosk, and we can't provide you with them. Apparently cooking knives should've been on the list too. [ a little. exasperated, there. ]

What the fuck is a laptop. He doesn't even know what a "nerd" is. This game is so anti-olde. ]
I see you've gotten here before me yet again. [ Not a bad thing. He will take a seat. ] You are faring well? In spite of all that has happened...

I did tell you I'd be waiting. [ they tap their fingers on the table ] I'm fine. Frustrated, but that's nothing considering what you might be feeling.

[ why would MURDER happen in HEAVEN! ]
Did you three notice Jing Yuan's mental state when you had him imprisoned?

[ murder ... is bad :( ]
His mental state? I don't think I know him well enough to know for sure.

To be clear, I haven't taken one.

If people feel better when they've got some amount of protection, that's--fine. Especially after all this.

So I may take a knife without repercussion.

It's kind of borderline to go "promise I won't kill" to be reassuring, but thanks.

Not like I can find a solution to our problems.
