I think being an asshole is learned behavior versus behavior born with you. So I do believe you can manage to be less of one if you really try. Maybe not even one at all.
I think... if you're getting the chance to start over, you're going to find that you'll have time to surround yourself in the company you want, too, rather than the company you're forced to keep for political reasons. Isn't that important?
