CYOAS
A CYOA (Choose Your Own Adventure) is a plotted event that is threaded in private in which specific characters are whisked away from the game setting and sent through a journey that tests their limits, forces them to work together with others, and perhaps even discover special information along the way.
CYOAs require frequent tagging over the course of a week and coordination with your fellow players on timing and your schedule. Please sign up aware of your schedule and knowing that, for the most part, you will be able to tag throughout the week.
In this game, we will have two types of CYOAs - mod-run CYOAs and Player CYOAS. Mod CYOAs will be biweekly, while player CYOAs will be weekly should we have enough proposals. Players sign up and are assigned to groups, and based on meeting certain conditions may receive new information or special items. While these will not necessarily be important plot-relevant news, it will still be unique as a reward for your efforts.
Mod-run CYOAs will involve heavy mod participation. Players who sign up for mod-run CYOAs and are selected will be semi-randomly rolled to participate, but we will also do our best to ensure everyone in the group has similar schedules to ensure maximum boomeranging.
These adventures will be tagged over the course of the week, with certain objectives. While players will have a chance to gain rewards, there will also be a high risk of injury or death. Please sign up aware that your character may be injured or killed, even if you complete the objectives.
Player-run CYOAs are similar to the above, but are run by a player with some input and assistance from the mod team. There will still be opportunities to gain unique info or items, and there will also be a risk of injury or death. The main difference is that what happens in them will be up to the players who submit proposals.
Both types of adventures should be completed by Thursday at approximately 3pm PST or earlier so that characters may return before curfew.
If you've been selected in a previous week, you can still be rolled for another CYOA. However, priority will be given first to those who haven't had a chance yet. We do not guarantee every player will have a chance to participate in a CYOA but will do our best to ensue we get through the queue at least once.

Players who would be interested in running a CYOA for a group of 2-4 other players can submit a proposal below. Similar to signing up for a CYOA, players who sign up to run a CYOA should be sure of their schedule for that week and that they will be able to tag fairly consistently. Although the deadline for proposals is at Sunday at 9 PM EST, we encourage you to sign up even earlier if interested so the mods can help you coordinate.
To submit a proposal, you only need a rough outline of what you intend to do in your CYOA. Your CYOA can be something related to your character, their memories, or their canon in some way, but does not strictly need to be. You might take inspiration from an episode of your character's canon, or a certain level in the game they come from, you might simply allow players to explore a place familiar to them. Or you might take inspiration from something else completely. We are also allowing sign-ups from our peanut gallery who may not be playing in the game.
The important thing a proposal should include is tasks players can accomplish, challenges they have to overcome, and and objectives they should achieve. You can also include danger or the chance to fail. Make sure what you want the players to do is something that they can accomplish before the Thursday deadline. This will be a hard OOC deadline, and any threads that aren't wrapped up by then won't be able to be backtagged further.

While we are not specifically offering mini CYOAs this game, we do have the option of allowing players to delve further into the setting and explore should they so choose. If you and/or a group of characters have somewhere you'd like to investigate a bit further, please submit a comment to the mini CYOA sign-up below! Please have some idea of what actions your characters are taking and what you are specifically looking for before submitting.
While there are no guarantees your character will find anything of note in their explorations, the mod team will respond via comment reporting any results you may net. These results may be nothing, or they may include fun little surprises and/or minor injuries depending where they explore.
Players may sign up for these and for regular CYOAs. You may also sign up in groups of no more than three if you have a preference of people you'd like to explore with.

Please note: Mods will limit the amount of mini-CYOAs per week, and similar to regular CYOAs, priority will go to players who have not participated yet.
